Guest guest
To tie the things I've been mentioning together: Why do Westerners SO STRONGLY follow Indians, and make them into absolute Gurus, or hope they will be that for us? Think about it. Why do we turn so strongly to something old and "pure", hoping it will be everything we want from a divine source? Why did I, at nineteen years, UTTERLY BELIEVE that there was "an unbroken chain of pure spiritual masters" coming from India to save me? Why did I give my whole life to that so wholeheartedly. Dinanath wrote to me that he has intense computing qualifications, could make money in the work world easily, but prefers to be in the temple doing service. Why is that really? I mean, not the devotion, but why India? What is the pull and magic that makes India the current seet of easily granted purity in Spirituality. I am finding that it is not the case. I have seen many Gurus, who, after the intital act is over, are just humans like the rest of us. We are putting a huge mantle on them. Is it a good thing to do? My point in promoting Sanjay is not that. I don't want him to have to act, pretend, or be something he's not. I am interested in that Puri has been the home, moreso than many places in India, one of the leading places, in Orthodox Vaisnavism. He carries with him a culture of learning that is ancient and has many gifts for us all. The teachings themselves are key, and mainly when kept pure. In that, you will find things which are good. It's not about the person as much as the subjects themselves. When you love yourself and don't need a savior, a Guru, a leader, to save you, then you can let others be themselves. Then the subject matter itself is of more interest. I can see now who is who in this recent drama. I pray for healing for all. I think some good things came of this. I believe it to be so. I think we all learned things. I did. I know others did. I hope it's true for many. peace to you all. I gave my day to this. I hope it had value. I really need to work. I should not have done this, on the one side. I cared too much to not pay attention and attend. If you think, as a detractor, that I do what I do just to blab about myself, or get attention, you're wrong. I do what I do because each thing is the best too I know of to make a point. I know me best. I use me. I think this is all about learning about being a soul in a human body, so I know my personal plight best, and since it's been a focused one, I know it has value as a barometer of sorts. Sanjay has the ability, the option, in this life, to be a barometer for the meeting of East and West. He is from a city which as a rule does NOT admit anybody but brown people of birth there to their temple. White people cannot go into Jaganath Puri. It is utterly exlcusive. This is a problem in India, and of course, many Hare Krishna devotees included are at odds with this situation. It's an ancient temple, and has not yet given in to the modern ways. It remains class oriented, and strict. The fact tha Sanjay is coming out, mingling, mixing, and teaching, is a development in history itself. He is a first in some ways, an original Puri birth male person who is willing to mix and teach Puri stuff to the West. Whether thats small or large as a contribution remains to be fully seen over time, but so far, MANY are grooving on his stuff, big time. I am interested in it in a nearly archaeological sense. I am interested to see his development as a person. He is a barometer. I am interested in that. What is happening here now is "Sanjay meets a few Hare Krishnas". This is part of his development. Again, respect for yourself, leads to respect for others. He should know what he is, and what he has. He is that which I've said. Alot of respect comes to him just because of his birth, yet, he was born at a place that has little respect, in some senses, for all Westerners. Their mood is "holier than thou" in an overt way, yet, when you go there, you don't get that in your face. You get utter friendship and love. In other words, they too are victims, caught in their own cultural past. Indians as a rule are quite loving to white people, and other westerners, loving to all, and likewise, the world is loveing them back with alot of respect. We are all working out our ancestries, caught in them. It's a challenge. Let's rise to it. It's gonna be OK. Father wants it to work out. It's all part of his plan. Mother is helping, loving. It's gonna be good. Yeah!
