Guest guest
> To tie the things I've been mentioning together: > > Why do Westerners SO STRONGLY follow Indians, and make them into absolute > Gurus, or hope they will be that for us? > If you had grown up in India, you would have realized that things are actually quite the opposite. It is the Indians who follow the west, want to dress like them, live, eat and talk like them....hell, they even want to believe the Indian history as told by western historians. Any efforts to make education more indigenous is vehemently opposed, and the biggest insult is that we don't even have the capability to defend ourselves, and are always looking upto West to restrain our enemies. Barring a few "gurus", THAT is the real India as of today. As far as Westerners are concerned, India is a nice amusement to have when they are feeling bored. P.S. come to think of it, this whole comedy on this newsgroup also started because Indians wanted to get recognition in the west and set up all these organizations! I am not saying it's bad, atleast a few have boldness and enterprise and the vision to see grab opportunities, but it's nobody's fault really, this is how we have always been!
