Guest guest
This list, was caused by, in order of appearance in my life: Srila Prabhupada! the one who gave me new life at age 19 in 1979, the will to love God moreso than any other person or organization, who showed me the way to serve my sweet Lord Jesus even better, who I knew would be happy with me if I joined, and I'm sure he was, and is, happy about that act, of my joining ISKCON. Hansadutta Prabhu, who showed me India, taught me about Prabhupada intimitely, and brought me to Sridhar Maharaj, my current Diksha Guru, who taught me Vaisnavism in a very fine and detailed way. Patita Pavan das, an early exponent and pioneer of Jyotish in the West Nalini Kanta das, who's book on Jyotish introduced me to the study. DuryodhanGuru das, (Drew Lawrence) who's astrological workings with me, tutilage, gave me my start in Jyotish Uttamasloka das, who introduced Rsabhadev das, who introduced me, to Omnis programming as a way of making a living as a devotee from my home. In other words, Srila Prabhupada, and his devotees alone, are responsible for my being a devotee of Krishna, a Hindu, and a Jyotishi, and the founder of this forum. Therefore, I named my software, and myself, after their Lord, Sri Caitanya, who is also my Lord, and his teachings, vani, are known as "Goravani", because he was golden in color (Gauravani correctly spelled) Lord Caitanya had an astrology friend named Acyuta, who is on Sanjays head. Lord Caitanya lived in Jaganath Puri, for the large last section, many years, of his life, going constantly to that temple for Darshan of the Lord Jaganath, Lord of the Universe. The holy place of his living, the Gambhira room, remains a shrine there today. Other help was received from followers of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Paramahansa Yogananda, Haydn Huntley, David Frawley, and many MANY others, who did NOT stop helping me despite my arrogance. They saw past my arrogance, and kept on helping, as if they could see the me that now exists. And the world of Jyotish is indebted forever to Michael Erlewine, the founder of Matrix Software, and Thomas Shanks, the creator of the atlas we all rely on heavily. I'm sure God will care for them, as none can do what they've done without the will of God. Let us remember the sacrifices made by all great souls in the unfoldment of this great science on earth. The sacrifices and adversities met and accepted by Srila Prabhupada are immense, and will never be denyable. The man put aside all personal concerns for the service of God, period. He didn't need to be "perfect" in every way, because his love and devotion were so perfect. I owe him so much. And as Robert says, it is true, the disciples of Prabhupada went through immense austerities to establish Krishna worldwide, and they were successful. I could not do what they did. Their sacrifices were extreme. I owe them so much. I walked into a Vaikuntha temple they built, in 1979. It was already there, fully established, and I am very grateful. With love, roik macAeoi aka raghunandan das, radha govinda das, richard wurst, das goravani
