It responds to posts that felt bitter and violent themselves to me. I admit I don't know the full context here. Nonetheless, there is a thing called netiquette. True netiquette never permits ad hominem argumentation. It's fine to attack ideas and behavior. Attacking people is contrary to sacred doctrine, exoteric or esoteric. Now, to bring up a familiar example, I walked the line yesterday with Bush. For that I do apologize. In his heart, I now really think he believes he is doing good. There may still be "salvation," hope, whatever for him. Yet to encourage these useful possibilities, I will not let up attacking his very foolish behavior and complicity with those exhibiting even worse behavior and general ignorance. I definitely have to remind myself to affirm his tathagatagarbha, buddha nature, basic goodness, still-present ishtadevata. I think this is good behavior generally, on or off the net. Build up people's basic goodness, confidence and possibilities; knock down behavior that strays from those qualities. There will certainly be times when subjectivity enters in, but we still all must remember to debate and duke it out with decency and civility. Just as ladies and gentlemen must. Question or if necessary attack the behavior; build up the divinity and sacredness. To the extent I strayed from this, I apologize. To the extent I didn't, I do not. Sincerely, J.I.
