Guest guest
What I wrote previously is not to say that endevours are not good, or should be done, or that "right desires" should not be attempted by us. Naturally, if we desire something which is wholesome and not conflicting with our progress towards fulfillment, needs, hopes, should not be done. Rather, I was speaking to the moment to moment mood inside us, which ultimately has to be peaceful in order to be happy. If one desires something, say food, then one has to plant seeds, wait for growth, harvest, store, and so on. During all these phases of life, one has to be peaceful using the kinds of thinking I discussed. If one desires to learn dance, then one has to go about it. There is nothing wrong with that. But what is wrong is if we have "burning desire" which makes us unhappy. That is to be checked or changed inside us by remembering the truth, which is that things take time to unfold and ripen, come to fruition. We have, and have to have, many desires and plans, just in order to live, and that can go on and doesn't interfere with good consciousness, God consciousness. Swami Prabhupada called wrong endevour as "over endevour". When we "over desire" then we "over endevour", and this leads to constant anxiety. That is what I was speaking about.
