Dear All

I had to take a break from lists. My mind is back and longing for

information. Does anyone have the birth data for Qusay and or Uday

Hussein?

Das, I promise I won't discuss the charts, just looking for

information and hoping someone out there has it.

Nicholas, if you see this, I agree with you that research has never

helped astrology east or west. The western astrologer Richard Tarnus

once put it beautifully: THis is a paraphrase: Astrology is so rich

and subtle that she will not yield her insights in the scientific

laboratory.

Cynthia!

AN EXCELLENT QUOTE!!!

But I liken astrology to the various attempts to describe the Japanese

game "Go" to "Western Chess". That is, to play Go well, one must be

part poet, and part mathematician. Too much of one or the other and

one's game is stilted.

So too it is with astrology. You really MUST understand the science

(the math), I think, in order to understand periods, etc. And, one also

needs a certain detachment. These are the "science" aspects.

Yet, at the same time, there seems to be a necessity to understand the

"lore", the personalities, if you will of the planets. This requires a

certain poetry in one's soul. And I'm not sure this can be taught. I

think you either have that gift or you don't...

Dear Martin

I love that!

I would agree with the "certain poetry." I was once working with a student

who is a serious meditator and very "spiritual" in many ways. When it came

to astrology he simply wanted tools and to know what works. He has no

interest in the lore or the stories in this context.

He took a job that gave him access to lots of birth data including time and

place of birth on people with cancer. He decided what aspects predicted

cancer (no surprise Rahu and Saturn). I asked him to stretch because

everyone born on that date would not have cancer. He felt certain and that

was all it took. The problem here came with his perception that virtually

everyone was going to get cancer and he felt it his mission to prepare them

for the inevitability. That to me is astrology run amuck. I'm rambling,

but if this type of astrology were truly valid all we would need is an

astrology program to cipher the aspects. When people hear some of the

stories they are enriched and grow bigger rather than smaller

Re research, cancer, the chap who ran amuck with it, and so on...

I have written a program which stores many tags for charts, and can sort

them for groups of charts you gather together. It reveals shared placements.

How far it goes, is it enough?, is another question.

I played with it, and found for example something that I felt worked about

HIV, but at that time I wasn't as mature as I am now. I'm not sure it's

right, that I'm sure of. But it was something.

>From my use of astrology, and I believe I have some gift for insight seeing

more than others might often, I believe that there is quantifiable things,

or at least, my mind works in such a way, and I'm a programmer, so I see

things in that way, it's huge and complex, but it's logical. I guess I am

saying I think there is logic to intuition to a large extent, and that to a

significant stretch that is mappable in computer code, and could be tracked,

I believe some success achieved, yes, with computers.

I'm not saying that to sell anything, because frankly it's alot of work, and

my heart has other masters and life isn't all that long.

But I'm saying it because I believe it to be true.

I have a vision for how it could be reasonably coded. It's alot for one

person to pull off. Kindof impossible. But with good code and good data, not

just birth, but event, I believe computers could be taught to learn from

real data, and then predict using what was learned. I can see it.

But it will never equal a human who is trained in sensitivity and who

themselves is liberated to a large extent, a free soul, a full soul, who is

actually capable of guiding others, from being a strong and free soul.

That, a computer, can never do, will never be, and we won't want it, the

more real healers grow in our ranks. Goodness will come from humans in years

to come, not from computers, though they will lend their hand where their

hand applies, at our call and design. We are the subjects of interest that

drive everything, and the masters over computers, always.
