Guest guest
Dear Ron, Your text seems to confirm my date of 5 BC. Comments below. >Thus a distinct possibility is that the birth occurred in late 7BC or >early 6BC if the Saturn/Jupiter conjunctions were the signs that >the wise men were following. According to the Matthew Gospel, the Wise Men arrived to King Herod and asked where was the new-born king, upon which Herod secretly asked them when the "Star" first had appeared. They answered him about two years ago. Then the Wise Men went to Betlehem and saw the new-born Jesus, and warned in a dream they did not return to Herod, who had asked them to find out the child and report to him. Upon this Herod thought he was cheated and so killed all male children of less than 2 years, according to what the Wise Men had told him. If we accept the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction as the "Star", then his birth must have been two years after this, or about Oct-Nov 5 BC, 2 years after the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction went retrograde, i.e. the "star" was moving in the Western direction. >One thing Cayce may have been referring to could be 4BC NOT 4AD. >In the writings of Titius Flavious Clements he states "Jesus was >born in the 28th year of the reign of Caesar Augustus". Caesar Augustus or Octavianus began to rule in 31 BC (according to the time table in my Bible), so the 28th year of his reign must be 4 BC. We must know also that the years in Rome were counted starting from August-September, so August-Sept 5 BC would have been the start of his 28th year of reign. Another point confirming the date of November 5 BC. It wouldn't have been March 4 BC, since Herod died in March/April 4 BC.
