Here is Dymock's report to test 74 . Congratulations to Maddelena and Ron Day

who are well known to us on jyotish lists .

TEST NO. 74—REPORT

 

The solution is —

 

1. On 14 Dec 1999 the woman started a new job as a nurse in a cancer ward.

 

2. On 26 April 1999 she underwent surgery for the removal of a uterine tumour.

 

3. On 17 Oct 1992 her husband left her suddenly.

 

The subject is a woman born 10 Nov 1949, 6:51 am EST at Lansing Michigan, USA.

The only biographical details I have is that she has three grown children and

works as a nurse.

 

There were 5 correct answers from 42 respondents. Those who were successful on

the first attempt were:

 

Vance (USA?) using Transits, Progressions, Age Harmonics and Eclipses,

Foo Yeong Shong (Singapore) using Vedic Astrology,

Ron Day (Australia) using Vedic Astrology and Solar Eclipses,

Gisela (Germany), using Transits,

Maddalena Cecchinato (Italy) using Vedic Astrology and Planetary Periods.

A quick way to the solution was via the precessed Lunar Returns:

Venus and Vertex in or ruling House 6.

 

Surgery. LR 21 Apr.1999: Mars, Saturn, Neptune and Vertex in a Grand Cross.

 

Husband left. LR 20 Sep 1992: Uranus, Neptune and EP opposite Moon in 7th

House. Mars in 7th square POF.

 

 

Though less obvious the correct answers could also be picked from the Month Age

Harmonics and their relation to the Radix.

 

Started new job. AH 50.0833 (10 Dec 1999—10 Jan 2000):

Natal Mars on MC, Mercury ruling MC square Mars and “floating” MC; Sun on

Ascendant sextile Moon and POF. (All aspects less than one degree).

 

Surgery. AH 49.4167 (10 Apr—10 May 1999):

Mars and Venus in conjunction on the 6th Cusp. Jupiter on Cusp 6 trine the N.Node.

 

Husband left. AH 42.9167 (10 Oct— 10 Nov 1992):

Mars in 7th House opposite Mercury, both at 2 degrees; Sun square Neptune.

 

 

Where it could be determined, the principal techniques used by those who
