Guest guest
Tony Blair’s Peculiar Situation Saturday, March 01, 2003 Just got finished studying Blair’s Vedic chart. It appears that he may have some serious trouble getting himself reelected. Balir has Jupiter and Mars in the Taurus Asc, with Jupiter ruling the 8th and Mars ruling the 12th houses. In addition, he is running the Dasa of BOTH planets as we speak! Jupiter/Mars has been in ops since April of 2002 and will continue until March of this year, when Jupiter/Rahu takes over. Ordinarily Jupiter-Mars combinations are very positive, but Blair’s chart is a very good example of how important a role planetary rulerships play in a Vedic horoscope. The 8th and 12th house, both of whom fall into the class of Houses known as the Trik Houses, almost always suggest difficulty and stress, unless other factors come into play elsewhere in the chart. Because Blair is a politician at the highest level of government, such a state of affairs – having the 8th and 12th lords running their dasas – is a very problematic situation, and this accounts for his growing unpopularity with his own electorate at the present time. When it comes to Mundane Astrology work, I usually use the actual chart of the leader of the nation, whenever possible. I do this because I have found that this method tends to give better results than merely dealing with national charts alone. In fact, my writings on the USA were based in large part on Bush Jr’s chart, not that of the USA itself. Going back to Blair, he’s also on the tailend of Sade Sati, the 7 ½ year transit of Saturn over either the Asc or the Moon. In this case, it’s his Asc (his popularity; in a national sense, “the people”) that is undergoing the Sade Sati. All of this, the Dasa scheme and the transit scene, does not augur well for Blair, neither for his support for Bush’s War on Terror and Iraq specifically, nor for his own reelection bid. It is also interesting to note that Blair’s 11th house of allies and friends in the International Community is important as well; note that he has his Asc ruling Venus in the 11th and exalted. This same exalted Venus is in exchange with 11th lord Jupiter, which is in the Asc itself. However, this alliance does not come without its problems, as Jupiter is also the 8th lord, suggesting a dimunition of personal popularity and so on, as we have seen; only a few weeks ago, hundreds of anti-war protesters, most of them having voted for Blair in the last elections, marched in the streets of London’s Trafalgar Square. Blair will have the Dasa of Saturn beginning in August of 2005; I don’t know when the British PM elections are next held, but if it is anytime before that date, Blair will have a hard time being reelected. First off, he has the Dasa of the 8th lord in general, with Rahu soon to come into the picture as sub period. Second, he has the Sade Sati transit in operation. Third, this Dasa of Jupiter is about to end, and such times are not good for mounting things such as reelection campaigns. All in all, I have a hard time seeing Blair being reelected, especially if this war goes on and it ends badly. We’ll see. Salaam, Mu ===== Mu'Min M.
