Guest guest Posted March 10, 2003 Report Share Posted March 10, 2003 Dear List members and experts, I'm student of Astrology. I'm trying to learn Vedic Astrology in logical and scientific ways. From my little experience I have realized that prediction is really an art. I have meet more than 50 astrologer at local level but frankly speaking nobody can convinced me. Most of them are blind followers of old books. I do agree that our ancient knowledge in this subject is unchallengable but certain views should be changed according to respective time and culture. For example definition of foreign country travel is need to be changed now. Some books have given rules for how many wives a man will have. In this age marring anoher person while first life partner exist is illegal in most of countries. So such rules are also to be changed. Let's take another example, in India marriage related problems are commonly putted in front of astrologer by people in age group of 25 to 35. In this matter in India there are some rules regarding late marriage etc. But if we look at the developed country like USA, people can enjoy life greatly with opposite sex person without marrying him. So I think such rules should also need to be redefine. I always get confused in such situation while stuying someone's horoscope. But now I have a great hope from this group. I have such kind of queries and I'm expecting right guidance from experts members of this group. In this message I'm putting my first query as follows : ---------- Current transit of planets should be studied from Rising Sign or Moon Sign? And Why? (i.e. For example someone has Leo as Rising Sign and Libra as Moon Sign then Current Saturn in Tarus will work as in 10th place or as in 8th place) ---------- I'm expecting guidance and advice from expert list members. Guest guest Posted March 11, 2003 Report Share Posted March 11, 2003 Dear Tushar The trouble here is that some astrologers take transits from Lagna whilst others take from Moon , some very good ones can work with both and even transits from the other planets as well . I think transits work most easily from the Lagna since that is generally considered most important as the foundation of the chart . Also lagna calculations tend to give more readily observable external characteristics . There are good astrologers who prefer Lagna and good ones who prefer Moon .
