Dear members,

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic support for my query. I'm

putting one more query for students like me and expecting your

guidance

Which Mahadasha is applicable

------------------------------

I know about 2 popular Mahadasha in Vedic Astrology

(1) Ashtotari (108 years) (2) Vishotari (120 years) I don't know

about other Dasha(s)

I always confused in this matter which is the correct Dasha?

Following various theories are came in my knowledge during my studies.

(1) Area dependent

In South India Vishotari Mahadasha is applicable and in North India

Ashtotari is applicable. – I don't see any logic in this theory

(2) Degree dependent

If Degree of Asc. is between 0 to 8 or 22 to 29 then Ashtotari is

applicable otherwise Vishotari is applicable - Little logical

(3) Proportionate Vishotari

First we have to decide total life of person then we have to

proportionate Vishotari Dasha according to total life. For example

any one person is having total life of 60 years then all rules

applied according to Vishotari but each planet's period will be cut

to half.

- think deciding total life is very much difficult

In my personal experience I feel that Ashtotari is more applicable to

me. I can give some logic behind my belief if anybody is interested

based on my past life.

So, I want to know that what is the correct method? Which is the

correct Mahadasha?

Thanks again

Regard,

Tushar

Dear Tushar

Pride of place is given by Sage Parasara to Vimshottari Mahadasha system and

is applicable to all birth charts . It has the greatest number of guidelines

of any dasha system .Parasara gives the most statements concerning it .

Some of the best jyotishis have succeded just using this one dasha system .

There are good jyotishis certainly who use other dasha systems .

That said it can take many years to be able to work Vimshottari well .

Hope this helps

Nicholas
