Guest guest
thanks for lightining speed reply, Please don't mind but everybody always quotes other's statement like Parasharya says this, Bhrugu says this etc. I think those rules are defined before thousands of years and some of them are really need to redefine. I want to know what is your personal experience? It has the greatest number of guidelinesof any dasha system .Parasara gives the most statements concerning it ..Some of the best jyotishis have succeded just using this one dasha system ..There are good jyotishis certainly who use other dasha systems .That said it can take many years to be able to work Vimshottari well .Hope this helpsNicholas-"tushar_9" Saturday, March 22, 2003 4:15 PM[GJ] The Art of Prediction - 3Dear members,Thank you very much for your enthusiastic support for my query. I'mputting one more query for students like me and expecting yourguidanceWhich Mahadasha is applicable------------------------------I know about 2 popular Mahadasha in Vedic Astrology(1) Ashtotari (108 years) (2) Vishotari (120 years) I don't knowabout other Dasha(s)I always confused in this matter which is the correct Dasha?Following various theories are came in my knowledge during my studies.(1) Area dependentIn South India Vishotari Mahadasha is applicable and in North IndiaAshtotari is applicable. - I don't see any logic in this theory(2) Degree dependentIf Degree of Asc. is between 0 to 8 or 22 to 29 then Ashtotari isapplicable otherwise Vishotari is applicable - Little logical(3) Proportionate VishotariFirst we have to decide total life of person then we have toproportionate Vishotari Dasha according to total life. For exampleany one person is having total life of 60 years then all rulesapplied according to Vishotari but each planet's period will be cutto half.- think deciding total life is very much difficultIn my personal experience I feel that Ashtotari is more applicable tome. I can give some logic behind my belief if anybody is interestedbased on my past life. So, I want to know that what is the correct method? Which is thecorrect Mahadasha? Thanks againRegard,TusharOm Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya; Hare Krishna; Om Tat Sat: gjlist-http://www.goravani.comYour use of is subject to Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya; Hare Krishna; Om Tat Sat: gjlist-http://www.goravani.comYour use of is subject to Platinum - Watch CBS' NCAA March Madness, live on your desktop! Guest guest
Dear Tushar The statements of Parasara and Bhrgu are sutras which are condensed information . That means that any statment of Parsara or Bhrgu needs to be fluffed out i.e explained in much greater detail . The student would memorise thse sutra but the full explanation of the sutra was given by a teacher or jyotish Guru . The knowledge of jyotish was thus passed down in a "sampradaya " where one started as a student and then proving his mettle later on became the teacher retaining and repeating the knowledge that his teacher had given him . Thus theoretically the essential knowledge remained unchanged over thousands of years . This sampradaya is largely lost now and there is a chance also that mistakes have crept into the texts ( possiilities here are statements or chapters missing ,statements changed or statements added) . For example the current edition of BPHS have no mention of nodal aspects while an older edition does . So from all angles care has to be used in applying Parasara's statements . Some statements might initially appear to be wrong but with further experience we might realise that Parasara had a very deep meaning in mind . I have a certain faith that sage Parasara has divulged the best astrological methods for this age and are therefore not so attracted to non Vedic techniques but to each their own . Hope this helps Nicholas Dear Nicholas, thanks for lightining speed reply, Please don't mind but everybody always quotes other's statement like Parasharya says this, Bhrugu says this etc. I think those rules are defined before thousands of years and some of them are really need to redefine.
