Dhana Yogas (combinations for wealth) according to any

classical texts fall under the category of Houses 1,

2, 5, 9 and 11. Especially the 5-11 axis has been

stated to be great for gains. Almost all the Yogas

mentioned in the classics involve these houses. The

2nd house is the house of earned wealth, the 5th and

9th are Lakshmi Sthanas or houses of wealth and luck

and the 11th the house of gains and income. The first

house as we know is a Kendra and a Kona and is

important for all matters and so also for wealth. Any

connection between any two of the above houses is good

for wealth during their periods. The more the

connections between any of these houses the better it

is for gains and income. Connection between these

houses can happen in any of the following three ways:

1) By Placement

2) By Aspect

3) By Conjunction

PLACEMENT

For example if the lord of the 1st house goes to the

9th house or 11th house or 5th house there is a Dhana

yoga by Placement. Similarly if the lord of the 2nd or

5th or 9th or 11th goes to any of the other Dhana

houses it is good for wealth.

ASPECT

If the lord of Houses 1, 2, 5, 9 or 11 aspects the

lords of any of these other houses then there is said

to be a Dhana yoga. For example if the lord of the 2nd

is in the 4th and lord of the 9th is in the 10th then

there is an aspect on the 4 -10 axis. Here mutual

aspects are more powerful than one-sided aspects. In

this example the lords of the 2nd and 9th house are in

mutual aspect (aspect from 4th to 10th & 10th to 4th)

CONJUNCTION

If for example the lord of the 2nd is in the 10th and

the lord of the 9th is also in the 10th then there is

a Dhana Yoga by conjunction. Or if the 5th lord and

the 11th lord are in the 7th then we say there is a

Dhana yoga.

MUTUAL EXCHANGE

A mutual exchange between the lords of any two of the

Dhana houses causes a Dhana Yoga. For example if the

lord of the 2nd goes to the 11th and the lord of the

11th goes to the 2nd then there is a Dhana Yoga by

mutual exchange of houses between the 2nd and the

11th. Similarly between any two of the other houses.

OTHER CONDITIONS TO BE MET:

Further the lords of these houses involved in Dhana

yoga must also be in good dignity, i.e. be in own

house or be in an exalted state or at least in a

friends house. To have for example the lord of the 2nd

in the 4th in an enemy rashi and the 9th lord in the

10th in debilitated state will be not make a good

Dhana yoga although there is a mutual aspect between

these two 2nd and 9th lords on the 4-10 axis.

Further the aspect or placement or conjunction must

preferably happen in a good house or still better in

one of the Dhana houses itself like 1, 2, 5, 9 or 11.

To have a mutual aspect of the 2nd and 9th lords on

the 6-12 axis is different from having a mutual aspect

on the 4-10 or 5-11 axis. In other words planets

should communicate or be in touch with each other in

or from Kendras or Konas for the Dhana yoga to be

effective.

Based on the above conditions one may see in a chart

whether there are any dhana yogas or not. It has been

observed that charts of the rich people have numerous

connections as enumerated above.

Please share your views on the above and if there are

variations to the above basic fundamentals for wealth.

Hi Vinay

I know a person very well who has both Venus and Moon at 27 degrees in Libra,

the 2nd house. During Ketu MD, he amassed a sizeable fortune. Ketu is in the 9th

house and has given the result of its sign lord and sublord - Venus. He will be

enjoying Venus MD next year.

Hi Sonia,

Yes...2nd being the house of wealth and venus in own sign...Ketu acting like

Venus. You can predict wealth during the period. Venus MD will be even better I

guess....

Dear Vinay

Thanks for that succinct wealth overview.

What is your view on a non-mulatriknona ascendant lord, Mars, in 2nd house,

while he is also Mulatrikona of Ari Bhava or 6th house. Is in that instance

Mars a benefic or malefic in general and for wealth?

regards

Arthur
