Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear Hanson, What you were thinking was right. Upapada, denoted by most as UL or A12, also called gauna Pada is Arudha of 12th house. Jaimini Updesa Sutra sometimes refers it as gauòa pada. pada means seat or manifestation and gauòa can be said to derived from the word guòa. Like in sanskrit followers of siva are called saiva, vishnu vaishnava etc. Guòa means nature(properties) or can also be taken as string (garland, thread etc [Ref:MW Dict]). That person whom you are stringed to. Also that which indicates all your properties. It also goes by the name of Vyaya(expense)Pada. It indicates all that we give away in this world. UL lord exalted can indicate a kingly person who gives away a lot. Warm Regards S. Prabhakaran [Ref: Jaimini Sutra Trans. Pt.
