Guest guest
Dear List, As many astrologers have noticed, the upcoming Mars Saturn conjunction in Ardra in late May points to a greater likelihood of violence and destruction in the world. And since Ketu aspects the conjunction, one has to assume that a sudden and explosive event is a real possibility. I have heard reputable astrologers ponder a wide range of options: Bush's assassination or death, a major US earthquake, or a terror attack in the US. I personally favour the latter scenario, but frankly wouldn't be surprised at anything. The dangerous alignment continues through June and early July as Saturn moves through some critical points (esp. 21 Gemini) in the applicable US charts, most notably Bush's chart and the Bush Inauguration chart . With a major violent event, we would expect to see a corresponding shock in the stock market. Given the speculative nature of the New York stock market horoscope, I think it might be helpful to refer to the chart of one of its leading companies, IBM (first trade: Feb 14 1924 10.00 am New York) as a proxy for the market as a whole. The IBM ascendant 17 Aries which will be conjunct Rahu throughout May and June. This is broadly supportive of a period of high volatility. Another potentially negative factor would be that natal Pluto (17 Gemini) will be fully impacted by the Mars Saturn conjunction on May 24. In addition, malefic 6th lord Mercury will have moved to sit right on top of the IBM ascendant on the day of the Mars-Saturn conjunction. The IBM chart is running Ketu-Sun. Interestingly, Ketu and Sun are conjunct natally in the 11th house of gains. Neither natal position receives suffers transit affliction although transit Ketu itself will exactly aspect the IBM natal Pluto. So a mixed picture there, although there is good reason to believe that the late May period will have significant negative effects on the price of IBM. I think the last week of June is also stressful for this chart as transit Mars will simultaneously aspect natal Saturn, Mercury, and Ketu. This will likely be another period of price declines. But IBM is only one company. Other company charts would show other patterns, some no doubt positive. The Microsoft chart, for example, doesn't look too bad for late May/early June. If a major world event is going to sideswipe the markets, one would think all stocks would decline. And yet the Microsoft chart looks weakest in July and August -- well after Ardra conjunction. As always, time will tell. While the timing specifics may still be cloudy (at least to me), I think it's reasonable to expect the coming 3-4 months as being predominantly negative for the markets.
