My last posting to this group was a while ago when someone asked

about Vedic astrology software for Palm Pilots.

 

I was looking at two programs at the time, Leo Palm and Mobile Kundli.

Leo palm was obviously the better program but it could not be used on

the older palm pilots which I have.

 

Mobile Kundli looked ok on the demo as it had KP which I wanted and

Varshapala. I could not try all the features but it was explained they

were not available on the demo program.

 

It was only after I purchased the program did I realise it is a dud and I

had been done by a shifty bastard called "Pundit Pandey"

 

I wanted a program that did true solar return with true nodes and

the "Pundit" assured me his program did it all like I wanted.

 

On downloading the program and paying my $140 USD which was

actually gifted to me by a generous person I had done a reading for, I

found it was so full of mistakes it was a joke.

 

Firstly the Varshapala part of the program just does not work at all

correctly.

 

The dashas are wrong or wrongly calculated and are wrong by 3 days.

 

The atlas is a joke with just about every American city given as +8.00hrs

and no states given. The same name appears in the atlas for a number

of cities like Washington, but you do not know where!!

 

The timezone cannot be changed manually so you cannot put it in by

yourself either as it will automatically go to the town given.

 

The planets are not in celestial order in the chart, Mercury could be at

29 degrees Leo and Rahu 1 degrees Leo but it will show Mercury before

Rahu in the chart. Very amateurish.

 

You have only mean nodes and no choice of true.

 

I could go on but my biggest problem is with this so called Pundit Pandey

who was very keen while I was interested in the software but has

disappeared now.

 

He assured me everything I wanted was working well in the program

and there would be free updates if any mistakes were found.

 

I have emailed him and even tried to get him on the phone but he is as

shadowy as Rahu it seems. If I was in India I would track him down and

face him to hear his excuses.

 

My advice to all is avoid him and his shonky software. Leo palm seems

far better if you have a newer palm pilot. As Mobile Kundli has been out

since 2002 without an update. I won't hold my breath waiting for a

refund or update.

 

I compare this trouble with Parasharas Light 6. When it came out the

sub lords on the KP prashna were wrong and a I picked up a lot of

mistakes in the first few days after buying it. On notifying the PL people,

they had it fixed and updated within days. I also noticed this problem of

planets not being in the correct celestial order in the round charts of KP.

They fixed this immediately and also added the sub sub of planets as I

requested.

 

In otherwords, they were very professional and were interested in

keeping the customer happy. They will keep my loyalty due to this. Das

is also very interested and helpful with his program so stick to these

people and leave Pundit Pandey to save his bullshit for the locals.

 

Members of other groups please cut and paste this to all groups so

others don't waste their money. I am now in Thailand and have no good

programs to use here as I only have a palm. At least the normal rashi

and KP parts of Mobile Kundli work ok. It is a pity as it could be a great

program with a bit of effort. It seems to be take the money first and

worry about the problems later with them.
