Guest guest
For some reason the Panchang is still not working right on my computer even after the 2.5 upgrade. It goes into a long "Loading Panchang Records into Memory" loop and never stops! I am sunning this on a XP system. Regards Prakash Desai eSimplify, Inc. It goes into a long "Loading Panchang Records into > Memory" loop and never stops! I am sunning this on a XP system. I have confirmation from a few users that indeed the new Panchang does work. So, we will get you working too Prakash. It may have to do with having multiple versions of my program around, or being logged into your old datafile. The new panchang data is only in the new datafile, so if you log into your old datafile to export charts, then try to run the new date ranges of panchang material, that will loop as the old one would, as you would be in the old datafile at that point. So it's important to be in the new datafile, with the new version of the program. You can verify which program and datafile you are on by looking under the File menu to "About GJ", and that window that appears will show you the program path and name, and datafile path and name. So learn to look there, everyone. That's a nice trick. On the Mac, there has been trouble in this first batch of CD's. There are one, possibly two, things you must do yourself after installing: 1. Do "Get Info" on the Omnis 7 icon in the folder, and check "Always open in Classic environment". Make sure that is checked for Omnis 7. 2. If you don't have the Goravani fonts already present in your system 9 system folder, then manually install them there, and you'll find a copy of the Goravani fonts in the program's folder- so drag them onto the System 9 "System Folder" inside your boot hard drive. Then, as above, try to make sure you only have the datafile remaining from the old installation, if anything. Do NOT have multiple copies of Omnis 7 and Goravani program, goravani.lbr, on your drive. Keep your old datafile if it has valuable data in it, but do not keep the old Omnis 7 and Goravani program icons. That can cause trouble. Again, check under File to About GJ to see what you're linked to. With these things reported by the first batch of upgraders, I've yesterday made a new master CD from which I am now copying, which has the Macintosh issues resolved, so anyone upgrading from now on on the Macintosh will not experience these problems.
