Hello

The basics of Jyotish are three groups:

Houses

Planets

Signs

Firstly, understand that the rising sign sets up the natives reltationships

to the planets and signs. So, good ol Jupiter can be a bad planet for some,

when he rules bad houses, as in the case of Libra or Taurus Lagna.

So once you are familiar with the nature of the signs, like what they're

like and who rules them, then you move on to knowing the planets, what they

signify, and how they feel about each other and how they feel about the

various signs, like which one's are good for each planet, and bad.

I've written articles on my website about these kinds of things... The

basics, and many have gotten a lot out of those writings.

In order to progress for real, you must learn material I've mentioned above,

like actually learn small lists of what each planet, sign, and house stand

for. Then you have to try to read the combinations in charts of real people

and ask them if you're reading is correct. By working with real lives, real

people, only, will you know if you are correct.

One handy trick is to see the houses and signs as the offices of the

planets, and see where they are as their current "business trip" that they

are on. This will tell you how if they are able to protect their "home

offices" or not right now, and if those offices are being pillaged by

enemies at this time etc.... Personalize the situation, that helps I feel.
