Hello Learned members,,

I have a question about your opinion on venus in 12th. What will be

the ill effects of it ..When placed in enemy sign say leo in 12th

and venus placed there..

A few words from BHRGU SUTRAS:---

Venus in the Twelfth House

Sutras 65-68-If Venus is in the twelfth house, the native will face

exterme poverty. If Venus is associated with a malefic the native

will be inclined towards sexual indulgences. If Venus is associated

with a benefic the native will be very wealthy, will have all

comforts of bed (sexual pleasures) and will go to heaven after

death. He will go to hell if Venus is associated with a malefic.

Comments-The above Sutras are self explanatory and need no comments.

Other Views

Brihat Jatak-The person concerned will be rich.

Phaldeepika-The native will be rich and will have sexual enjoyments

with many women.

Saravali-The native will be lazy and happy. He will have a plump

body. He will be mean, clever in sexual matters and dominated by

women.

Chamatkar Chintamani-The native will be rich. He will destroy his

fame and good qualities and will be inimical towards his friends and

others.

Note-Except Saravali all the above authorities have expressed the

view that Venus in the twelfth house will make the native rich.

According to Bhrigu Sutras the native will face extreme poverty but

will be very rich if Venus is associated with a benefic. We in this

matter support the view of Brihat Jatak, Phaldeepika and Chamatkar

Chintamani. The following Shloka from Bhavartha Ratnakar also gives

support to the stand taken by us:-

This means that Venus in the sixth gives the same yoga effect

(wealth) which he gives by being posited in the twelfth house.

The above are the words written in Bhrugu Sutras..

Kindly give your point of view.

Thanks and Regards

Hello and Hari bol!! to all!!

Thank you Tarun for your inspiring posting, the best I've seen here for some

time, providing a scenario with many illuminating authoritative references.

My son has Venus in 12th in Libra, his birth time is exact (I was there),

and so I've studied his chart and behaviour carefully and have found Jyotish

to be accurate, but only after I've understood ALL the multifarious

contributing factors. He also has a benefic deep exalted shani in 12th thus

contributing positively to his mixed Venus.

Any planet in a house, say for example Venus in 12th, has a general affect,

but to be BLENDED to that are so many other contributing factors that can

often REVERSE that general trend.

For example, my son has Venus in 12th with Scorpio rising at 25 degrees. As

non moolatrikona kendra lord of 7th and lord of its own 12th house, his

Venus becomes functional malefic (some may say neutral).

There are many other negative and positive contributing factors to be

considered about my son's 12th house Venus.

In addition to those references provided by Tarun, I present the following:

Phala Deepika Yoga 6/69

Lord of 12th in the 12th is Viparita Vimala Raja Yoga. Virtuous and

contented person, good behaviour, enjoys happiness, independent, respectable

profession, known for good qualities. [Positive.]

Sambu Hora Prakasha 14 - Mukabadhiramdha yoga. Venus in 12th house native

might suffer from ear problems. [he has no ear problems yet].

Sambu Hora Prakasha - Dasi-prabhava yoga. Venus in 12th in Navamsa in

shani's house (CAP), the native might be child of female slave or a maid.

His mother is from Pittsburg USA, middle class family, oldest, very devoted

to Krishna, and subservient to all. [sort of matches up in a way.]

Garga Hora

Shukra and Shani in 12th bhava. Native will cheat others, be sick, and will

wander aimlessly without friends. [Negative, apart from sick, around 20%

partially manifest.]

Hora Sastra

Should Shukra and Shani be conjoined in a bhava other than 1,4,5,9, or 10

the native will be deprived of his strength and money. [Negative. However,

it can also be positive if the native gives his energy and money in

sacrifice to Vishnu/Krishna which he is very inclined to do having had a

gurukula education in India.]

Saravali

Venus in Libra. The native will be skilful in duties, rich, meritorious,

famous for honouring Brahmins and God, fortunate, and a scholar. [Positive.

Scholar and meritorious somewhat there, other qualities yet to manifest.]

Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra

1-4 Oh Brahmin..... There will be expenses on good accounts if the 12th's

lord is with a benefic, or is in his own house, or exalted, or if a benefic

occupies the 12th. [Positive. My son's 12th lord Venus scores positive on

most of that criteria, indicating he'll spend for good causes, and this is

something he wants to do when able to do so.]

While evaluating the outcome of a planet Parasara Muni advises:

The planet will yield full, half, or quarter of its indicative effects

according to its strength being full, medium, and weak respectively. Thus

the shad bala strength of each planet is so important and revealing.

So Venus in 12th is one thing, giving general results, but the sign Venus is

with, the planet Venus is with, the strength Venus has, the aspects Venus

receives, and the yogas formed by Venus with other planets and houses all

has to be mixed into the pot and the overall colour/result assessed

accordingly.

My conclusion of my son's Venus in 12th house: Taking all that I know into

consideration, including other factors too detailed to mention herein

particularly his Venus bhukti periods and Venus mahadasha from age 28 to 48,

his Venus being associated with an exalted Saturn will show him the high and

low pleasures and pains of material life and thus lead him to a strong form

of disillusionment and renunciation based upon his strong foundation of

Vedic knowledge already acquired to achieve a higher transcendental

spiritual world in pursuance of a better life. His Venus in 12th will

ultimately prove positive.

Any other insights or references very much welcome.

Regards.
