Guest guest
Dear list members, I notice that delineation of a horoscope is done by way of Rasi charts as well as Bhava charts. This has led to a lot of confusion to me and I would not be surprised if others are also likewise confused. I have often wondered why talk of Bhava charts when Rasi Chart will suffice. I have often sought an answer to this question and have looked into books on astrology but they offer no clue. Most of the books take the Rasi chart to delineate a horoscope, whereas Dr. B. V. Raman' s book, "How to Judge a Horoscope" Bhava charts are used. The confusion became compounded when I had to deal with a debilitated planet in a chart and tried to see whether there is cancellation of debilitation. The debilitated planet is Jupiter in Capricorn. The dispositor of Capricorn is Saturn and it is posited there. If the dispositor is in a quadrant from either Lagna or the Moon, then cancellation of debilitation results. Unfortunately, Moon is in Virgo and therefore there is no nexus between Moon and the dispositor of the debilitated planet. If I were to take the Bhava chart cancellation of debilitation results as Moon is in Libra and the dispositor where Jupiter is debilitated is in a quadrant to the Moon. Notice here the movement of planets between the Rasi and Bhava charts. If one were to take the aspects of planets from both these charts, the effect in each case would be different and would bring about conflicting results I would appreciate if learned members help clarify in which cases Rasi and Bhava charts are used so as to dispel the confusion once and for all. Thank you for patiently reading through this lengthy email. David
Guest guest
Dear Sri David Andrews there is indeed no confusion in reading the results from Rashi as well as Bhava chart, it is true that to Western students not acquainted with the Vedic principles (and most often they ignore Guru-Sishya paramaparaa) this may appear as confusion but to the Indian mind well acquainted with the principles delineated by the ancients Rhishis such detailed distinguishing features are only helpful in reading the horoscope correctly and distinguishing between apparently similar charts but with vast differences practically. At the first sight the Raashi chart may seem some thing but as we start looking to the planets from Moon, Bhava chart and Navaamsa the meaning may be modified to almost 180 degrees. remember that aspects are only from Raashi to Raashi in Vedic system and not from Bhava to Bhava. however an orb of influence does exist for full fructification of the aspect for example suppose Jupiter is at 5 degrees Libra, and mars in Aries in 10 degrees in one case and 28 degrees in other case. While in the first case the aspect would give the desired result , in the 2nd case it would be too feeble to give the result , so the result would be very minimal. as per your query regarding cancellation of debility , there are several factors that would make the debility to be cancelled . however i would request you to send the detail birth detail where u have confusion so that things could be made very clear and you can understand how it is but too imp to have diff Bhava charka which is so helpful in delineating results Gurudatta Dash. - "David Andrews" <andrews635 <valist> Monday, May 30, 2005 4:49 PM Delineating through Rasi and Bhava Charts - the confusion ! > Dear list members, > I notice that delineation of a horoscope is done by way of Rasi charts as well as Bhava charts. Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear David, Other Jyotishas have already given some of their valuable views. To add little from what was taught to me. Grahas affect us in two ways, One as the native thinks it's affecting Vs As Actually affecting us. This is perception vs actual influence. Rashi Chakra : Is the environment or the environment we are actually in. It's independant of the observer and the 12 Bhava as delineated by the Rashi is what is around us. To find the changes in the world as happening around us. Bhava/Chalit Chakra: The houses as perceived by the native. In this chart the Zodiac is represented _somewhat_ independent of the environment. Eastern Horizon is take as 1st house and the Western Horizon as 7th house. 15 Degrees(Or 4 Naskhatra pada +/- the rising pada) above and below that horizon. This is how the houses are percieved when the native looks at the sky. This is natives perception. Suppose at a given time say 1deg of Aries is rising. Then the native assumes that +/-15 deg rising is his Lagna. If a planet is say in 18deg Aries, The Native Percieves it to be in his 2nd Bhava and affects actually his 2nd house decision making. Perception effects Personal relationships, The decision making, The Happiness or Bad experienced by the person. It's said that When The Native's Rashi Chart and Bhava/Chalit Chart/Chakra is same. Gayatri Mantra's blessings is present. Since Gayatri signifies truth. The Lagna's show Gayatri. As Gayatri Mantra is recited at Sun Rise, Sun Set (Also Midday or Night). My Own Personal reasoning from the above teachings is that, Dashas like Vimshottari Dasha etc When Used with Chalit Chakra will indicate the persons reactions or relations or decision making. As Vimshottari indicates time phases on Moon (Mana/Mind) For Example If Chalit Chakra shows 7th Lord is in 6th where as it may still be in 7th house. Indicates the persons attitude towards partner will be bad, When the spouce themself could Actually be healthy and well to do.
