Guest guest
Hello all list members, Forgive me for being totally off topic. I'll be brief. Hahaha! Nevermind, I'm never brief. What was I thinking?? I went to a lecture by Dr. James Jakowatz, Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of the Melanoma Center at the University of California, Irvine, Medical Center. He said that sun blocks that block only ONE type of UV ray (either just UVA or just UVB) INCREASE your chances of skin cancer and you are better off with no sun block at all. !!! That's just rude. If you use a sun block make sure it states on the package that it blocks BOTH UVA AND UVB rays. It has to do with keeping a balance between the two UV ray types. Apparently, there's no particular evidence yet that UVC is important. Anyway, check your sun block. My family's shoebox full produced 4 that only blocked UVA, 1 that didn't say anything (so I threw it out), and 2 that blocked both. So really, only 2 are effective. That's it. Your computer screen will now return to the regular astrological broadcast... Discover Stay in touch with email, IM, photo sharing and more. Guest guest
Thanks, Mary, for adding a practical touch, and not really "off topic"; it is about the Sun, related to the combustion aspect perhaps in astrology (tic: for "tongue in cheek") , or even if it's not, it's good information, and these discussions can be very technical, especially for some of us.
