Guest guest
Tejpal and Rick, Our beliefs should be validated with concrete evidence, such as discoveries by oneself and by science. Recent discoveries and thinking in Physics appear to show the world or matter is based on the flimsiest structure in the universe such as the subatomic particles, e.g. quarks and gluons. I am not a scientist but based on my understanding of these discoveries, the basis of matter or the world appears to be ponderous and act like thoughts. Thus, I am now believing that the basis of the world and the human physical structure is consciousness. Further, the late Pope John Paul II admitted many years ago that the story of Adam and Eve in Eden is a myth and should not be taken as a scientific fact. He, however, believes that the Eden story has a religious message and should be taken a such. The problems we're having today, especially in the conflicts in Afghanisthan and Iraq, is due to the failure to distinguish belief, such as creed or idiology, from the truth. For example, An insurgent in Iraq or an al Quaida member would willingly blow himself for the belief of their cause (the Koran or whatever) which is different from the Christian or American ideology. Similarly, we have Americans who believe that the troops are there to defend the American homeland from violence and destruction from terrorists. What we have in consequence is a group of people who are enslaved by their thoughts (fear in particular) or belief system and have unnecessarily sacrificed many lives for the sake of creed, fear or ideology. I believe that we need to transcend our own thoughts and belief system to avail ourselves to the source of the universe, which is Pure Consciousness. It is only at this level that we will find the solution to the conflicts in Iraq and elsewhere. Regards, John R. valist, "Tejpal Chadha" <tejpalchadha@h...> wrote: > Fair enough.
