Hi all,

I've been reading up on Osteoporosis (since I know how

to have a good time) and I've learned that the upswing

in number of Osteoporosis cases in women (oddly, the

literature is silent as to men, who do get it too) has

more to do with how women take care of themselves

below the age of 30 than how they take care of

themselves after the age of 50 or 60.

Our bodies grow and destroy a certain ratio of bone

throughout our lives. At 20 we grow a greater

percentage than we destroy. The opposite is true at

60. Apparently, our suceptability to Osteoporosis has

to do with How Much bone we grew in our 20s. The lower

the level of bone, the closer we are to Osteoporosis

when we start to lose bone later.

And what is the biggest single culprit against bone

growth in our 20s? SODA. Yeah, that drink many of us

drank (or currently drink) by the liter. The

phosphorus in the drink leaches calcium out of the

bone. So more and more young women are growing less

and less bone.

And the rudest thing of all? That "diet" soda actually

makes you gain weight. Yes, a double whammy (technical

term). Yep, studies have shown that even switching to

regular soda leads to immediate weight loss, more so

if you stop soda all together.

So, if any of you know any young women (or men) in

their 20's...

As to how this relates to astrology? Er, transiting

Saturn has recently turned retrograde and is opposing

my Venus and trining my Jupiter (does Saturn trine?

Maybe not), while transiting Mars and transiting

Jupiter both square my Venus (really, I think she has

cause to complain), and now transiting Rahu is

conjuncting my Jupiter. Which of course means nothing

at all, but it was an entire sentence of astrological

words - that's pretty good for me.

So, a good day to all. I'm going to take my Venus out

shopping for make-up. Maybe she'll feel better.

:-)
