Guest guest
Namaste Nicholas, The jyotish chart is a tool for making predictions for those who do not have the siddhis to predict the future. Im my own opinion, the outstanding astrologers of the past and present have siddhis for seeing the future. So, they may not need to use the charts to make predictions. A good example of this is Yogi Karve who is known to identify the planetary positions of a person's chart based on his intuition alone. Also, KN Rao told us in the past that his mother developed the siddhis in her late life that she no longer used the rashi charts to make predictions. She either used the person's thumbprint or physical makeup to make her spontaneous analyses. You are correct in saying that jyotish is mathematical by nature. But some people have the siddhis to see the future without the assistance of computers or charts. In any event, the verification of the US lagna would have to be made by practicing astrologers. Over time, there should be a consensus as to which one is more appropriate for the national personality (or level of consciousness) of the US.
