Dear Siddharth,

Please explain your views. Why third house. What does parakrama have

to do with the light..Jyoti? 11th & AK is what was taught to me

traditionally. Jupiter & Vishnu Bhagawan, yes, but why third house? Should

it not be the 1st & 9th houses as the Sun (Jyoti) becomes the Karaka? Should

there not be malefics in the 4th house..the power to take away others sorrow

(Saturn in 4th), or other evils (Rahu in 4th),..etc. See MATSYA YOGA and

remember that Matsya represents or symbolises Maha Vishnu.

Sanjay Rath

The third house is not merely parakram, it is also a bhava of skill,

faculties....if you consult Light on Life, you'll find in the chapter

on bhavas WHY exactly it denotes skill and prowess.

This makes it very synergetic with the cause of jyotish.

Moreover, if you remember, Mars represents a sharp, penetrating and

an analytical brain (a most essential commodity for Jyotirvidya), and

Mars is the Karaka of the 3rd house.

Dear Siddharth,

So now, jyotish has to do with PROWESS. What is Light of Life? The

Skill referred to relates to the skill of the hands as the third relates to

the hands. That way, all the houses relate to Jyotish as the lagna

represents Head and without intelligence or a good head, there can be no

Jyotish. The second relates to speech and a Jyotish needs to speak out his

predictions. the third relates to hands and writind with them and he needs

to draw the chart. The fourth relates to education and he needs to learn

Jyotish before applying it. The fifth relates to knowledge and Jyotish is

not for the dull witted...we could go on like this, but this does not help

us to PREDICT as to WHO will be a GOOD JYOTISH.
