The Arudha lagna is in VIRGO and the eleventh therefrom is Cancer. Hence, saturn augments the income. Mercury is the Lord of the Arudha lagna and the 10th from it and is placed in the 10th from AL. Hence in this world of Maya, Sat-Sat and Sat-Merc gave excellent results. Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra teaches that if Mercury is placed in a dusthana from Saturn and also in a dusthana from lagna, then in the begining there will be Rajyoga like sudden elevation and benefits from the king. However, towards the end,.... You will have to wait for the Saturn Pratyantar in SAT-MERC period to understand what I am trying to say. Saturn-Ketu is yet to commence..Please advise him accordingly. When Planets are in the 9th house, they can only be propitiated in temples etc.. But the big point is that althogh it all seems very obvious in the hindsight, could we have predicted such results by noting the position of Saturn in the 9th house. Another point--Although BPHS has all those bad things to say about the bad position of Mercury, shouldn't we take into account the SWAGRIHI status, albeit in a bad house, which should operate in the manner of VRY? Another thing, Saturn is in a MUTUAL ASPECT with the Swagrihi lagna lord Mars, so probably this is the reason why this time appears like gloom to him. If you want to analyse the chart yourself, then here it is -- 5th July,1977, 17:45 IST, Udaipur, India. Please do tell me about your views. I have many more CONTRADICTORY charts to discuss.....which make me cast a shadow of doubt on my abilities as a jyotishi. Regards Siddharth.
