Dear Narasimha,

Venus is Rajasik being full of Passion (Most of the world considers

this wonderful). Although the Sun has a lot of heat, this holy fire is

Saatwik. Under the blessings of the Sun & Jupiter, Temples are built and

under the blessings of the Moon & Jupiter most of the sacred literature

including Jyotish is written & studied.

Hare Krishna,

Sanjay

I misused the words. Strictly speaking, not only is Venus rajasik and Sun

saattwik, as correctly pointed out by Sanjay, but Mars is not rajasik as I

implied above. Parasara clearly said that Mars is tamasik.

However, I found that Jupiter, Moon and Venus usually give light, pure and soft

shades (which I perceive as "saattwik" shades), Sun, Mars and Mercury usually

indicate darker, shiny and glittery shades (which I perceive as "rajasik"

shades) and Saturn and nodes to indicat dark and/or very dull shades (which I

peceive as "tamasik" shades). That is what I was trying to say.

The original colors I gave were from classics (Sun and Mars-red, Venus-white,

Moon-white/tawny, Mercury-grass green, Jupiter-light yellow, Saturn-Blue/black).

The shade modifications I gave are based on my experiences.

For example, I have seen Jupiter giving beige colored cars. Depending on the

sign Jupiter is in and depending on other planets with him, I have seen pure &

soft or shiny or dull shades. With the same colors, you can have many shades.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
