Dear Ashok,

Count as many houses from the lord of a house as it has gained from the

house. This is the Arudha Pada. For example, if the lord of Lagna is in the

3rd house, we get 3 counting from Lagna to 3rd house. now count 3 from this

to get the 5th house as Arudha Lagna.

There are two exceptions. The Arudha cannot be in the same sign or the

seventh from any house. Thus if the Arudha falls in the same sign or the

seventh, then the tenth from this sign will be the Arudha.

| Upapada Pada Pitranucharaat i.e. Upapada is the arudha Pada of the 12th

| house. The same way as you compute the Arudha Pada of the Lagna, compute

| the

| Arudha of the 12th house. This is called Upapada. Similarly the Mantrapada

| (A5), Rajyapada (A10) etc. can be determined.
