Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, Vidhyadhar, Mani and all, - Sanjay Rath <srath > Dear Maniji, > You are correct in that the Kali Yuga started on the day of disappearance of Sri Krishna. It is the tradition of Hindu's to start calanders on the day of disappearance or appearance of Mahatma's > I have a notion that the reason we are having difficulties ascertaining when Dwarapa Yuga was ending and Kali Yuga was subsequentely starting is - As Brahma's Day is much longer than our Days, could it not be that Each former Yuga comprised "Longer" Years than the next one? E.g. A Dwarapa Yuga Year may have been the Equivalent of 500 Kali Yuga Years (500 x 365 days by today's standards). Seeing as our "Ancestors" lived far Longer in each preceding Yuga, is this not therefore a possibility as to why? For if Krishna was indeed only 126 Years (in HIS time), it may have been equal to something like 12,000 Kali Yuga (modern) Years - which explains why he was able to do so much in 126 Years! Very best regards - Sateesh.
