Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Jyotisha, I thank you for your enthusiasm in reply to a very simple exercise. The purpose of asking for the lesson answers is to get the feed back from the sisyas. I request all the members to spend more time on each lesson and refer many books before answering. You can also ask questions related to lessons. I request the very beginners and people who find difficult in understanding the lesson to write to us, if you are struck with the lessons. Your feed back is very important. Before going into the answers, I would like to clarify some of the questions raised on this exercise for the benefit of all. Vargottama: It is good that Anoop asked what is Vargottama. Vargottama means, Varga Uttamam. Varga means the classification or division of the rasi. When a planet occupies same Rasi and same Navamsa, it is called Vargottama. There are many Vaisishika amasas which defines about a planet occupying own Vargas in various divisional charts. But, Vargottama will be important even if it is not in own Varga. As we all know, Rasi is macro level broader meaning. Navamsa is inner nature. That is why in India, among the various vargas/divisions Navamsa is given greater importance. The whole purpose of this exercise is to understand the relationship between Rasi and Navamsa. It is very important that though a planet is well placed in Rasi, in order to give a yoga it must be well placed in Navamsa also. If a planet occupies benefic sign in Rasi and in Navamsa, it is good. If it occupies friendly signs that is also good. If it occupies own signs, it is better. If it occupies same sign, it is Vargottama and if the same sign is its own or exaltation, then it is best placement. For example, if you are an Indian and you are in a foreign country and your organization has a lot of accommodation blocks and they can put you up in any block. But, you prefer blocks with Indian predominance. Luckily, if you get Indian predominance block and inside the block if you get neighbour hood of your own language speaking people, you will feel more comfortable than staying with Arab speaking blocks. As we have seen in the exercise, if a planet is in Ashwini 1st pada, it will fall in Aries Navamsa. So, in Rasi as well as in Navamsa the planet will occupy Aries. It is Vargottama. 1. Sriram.N.Kizhakkemadam: 28.10.2001 :- Excellent reply and I appreciate your prompt attempt. Your understanding is correct, but in 2nd answer for Capricorn and Aquarius, you missed Jeyestha. Instead of 9 Nakshatra, there are only 8. I know it is a typo. But, you must know that we check all lessons. 2. Srivastav vikas: 28.10.2001:- Wonderful answers. In Rasi chart, you missed Mars. In second answer, for Sun you mistyped Purva Badhrapada for Uttar Badharapada. In answer 3 : You wrote: 3rd pada of Chitra ,Ardra and P.bhadrapada – It should be Chitra, Punarvasu and Satabishak . You wrote: 4th pada of Punarvasu,Jyeshtha and U.Bhadrapad. – It should be Punarvasu, Anooraadha and Revati. 3. Anoop: 29.10.2001:-Very good reply. Rasi chart is correct. In Navamsa: Moon must be in Lagna Aq., Mars must be in Leo and Mercury must be in Libra. Please, check where you made the mistake. Regarding Vargottama, for the benefit of others I defined separately in the beginning. So, attempt the answer after reading the definition. 4. Dilip: 30.10.2001:- Correct Rasi chart, In Navamsa Mercury and Sun are not placed correctly, please check and find the reason for this. You didn't answer of question 2. Plus, in question 3, your understanding is correct, please list the Nakshatras. 5. Karthik: 29.10.2001:- Excellent answers. You worked hard on this exercise. Keep it up. Just a small note. Some of the 2nd answers are correct. But, you didn't understand the logic of how the Navamsa is prepared. Please check Arjuna Vallaba das answers and check the table given by Nandan for 2nd answer. Answer 3 also please check it. 13. Nandan: 30.10.2001:- Excellent. I know it is simple for you. But, please use Rasi and Navamsa terms instead of D1 and D9.
