Guest guest
JAI GURUDEV.Guruji,Ref.:LESSON : 1Question-1: Explain changing of the seasons and its connection with astronomical factors.Changing of seasons are owing to earth's rotation around the son. When sun is towards southern hemisphere of the earth that particuler half experiences summer and when the northen hemisphere faces the Sun, it changes its season to Summer and simultaneously other half experiences winter. Rougly seasons changes when Sun enters Makara and Karka. We call Uttarayana when Sun enters the Makara and this initialises the Winter in this Northen part and when Sun enters the Karka, it commences Summar in the region. Question-2:There are some days of the year when the Sun either doesn’t rise or set above certain parts of the globe. Please explain this phenomenon This phenomena happens at the farthest points of the latitudes of the earth, either at North pole or at South pole, when earth reaches its longest distance from the Sun, in its trajectory. If earth's Northen half is facing the Sun, and there would not be Sun set over at its tip facing the Sun, where as tip of the southern half experiences no Sun rises during the same time. Question-3: Parasara mentions two classes of heavenly bodies: the moeving and non-moving ones. Please explain, what will be the difference between their roles in the astrological interpretation. Non moving bodies are termed as constellations or Nakshatras in Vedic astrology. these non moving band is comprising of 27 Nakshatras, from Aswini to Revathi and placed in the zodiac starting from Mesha to Meena. These are assumed to be around the Earth and in the space. All Nine Grahas from Ravi to Ketu are moving bodies which are constantly moveming on these Nakshatras. Fixed extension of all Nakshatras are 13°20' each, fixed in the arc. Question-4:If you are able to construct your own chart, please do it and explain as many astronomical principles from it as you can (terrestrial latitude/longitude, season, Sun’s cycle, Sunrise/Sunset etc.). Also try to determine which planets are above and under the horizon in your chart. In which Ayana the Sun is? Enclosed is the chart, erected for the time of birth of self. The place of birth is always identified two dimensinally, i.e., with help of terrestrial latitude and longitude. The place has got Longitude 74E27 and Latitude (geographic)14N26. The birth was in Dakshinayana, as the Sun was moving in Simha. Hence, for this part of the world, the season was summer. The Sun rise/set are determined according to Latitude of the place. On the day of birth The Sun rise was at 06:04 Hrs. and Sun set was 18:53 Hrs. Indian Standard time. I believe, the horizone is with reference to meridian coeli. The 10th house is above the horizon or at the center of the horizon and 4th house is Nadir or exact opposite of center of the horizon. From this point, 90° from each side comprises below horizon portion and remaining 180° , i.e., 90° each side from the center of the MC, makes the above horizon portion. If the horizon is with reference to the rising point at the east, then houses from 1st to 6th are below the horizon and 7th to 12th are above the horizon. I kindly request Guruji to point out my mistakes and guide me in understanding the lesson. Thanking for the valuable lesson, Namra Shishya, Mohan hegde.
