Guest guest
Let noble thoughts come to us from every side - Rig-Veda, 1-89-i Namaste Dilip: I thought I would add a few things regarding your email ( below) because of it's nature Maharishi Patanjali has direction and advice ...not so much on D30 chart but on the Klesas ( or afflictions) you refer to e.g. "Old Samaskaras are stored there, and they crop up again and again in the path of sadhana".Patanjali teaches that the goal for supreme knowledge ( which includes Jyotish as part of the Ved that was cognized by the Rishi's) and the realization of Purusa. This is also called Viveka-Kyhati or knowledgeof the distinction between Buddhi ( intellect) and Purusa ( or the Transcendent). 1. Sattva Guna is predominant in Viveka-Buddhi or the final realization - BUT it is not the means to it! 2. The state of Samprajnata Yoga needs to be attained by the native. This starts with fixity or Ekagra ( one-pointed) mind . When one masters this one-pointed ness it leads to Samprajnata Samadhi. This infers one meditating and experiencing fixity and the transcendent by practicing Samyama made up of Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi.2a. Why is this state of being of import? it loosens the Klesas( past binding actions) to allow realization of Self. Klesas ultimately are born form Avidya ( lack or truth - misapprehension about the real nature of things) and include Asmita ( Egoism), Raga ( attachment) Dvesa ( Antipathy) and Abhinivesa ( fear of death) that make up the 5 Klesas. 3. When the mind is freed from the operation of the 3 gunas, then only pure consciousness exists and the native operates from Being or Self... this is why Sri Krishna gives Arjuna the instruction to be without the 3 gunas ( Chapt II, sutra 45). This leads to skill in action, understanding, and the ability to perform the highest level of Bhakti - So, Bhagavan instructs Arjuna to be established in Being and perform actions " yogastah kuru karmani" ( Chapt II, sutra 48) 4. Why would we as practicing Jyotisha's be interested in this? We what to give correct knowledge and know ( discriminate) only hr truth of a chart - this comes be being ultimately established in Rtambhara Prajna - unalloyed truth - or that which only knows the Truth. That means the Jyotish is cognizing only the truth of one's (natives) past, present and future though his/her analysis and predictions. More can be discussed on this such as Vairagya ( detachment - other then mood making of this stage),Paravairagya ( supreme detachment ) which yields AsamprajnataSamadhi ( eliminating all fluctuations of the mind), etc. ultimately unfolding the full potential of the individual . ! Please let me know the following things in relation to it-- 1. Subconscious mind is the area of difficulty for a sadhaka. Old Samaskaras are stored there, and they crop up again and again in the path of sadhana .The six Ripus are stored in that plane. Sri Aurobindo in his 'letters on Yoga' have written-" The subconscient is a dark and ignorant region, so that it is natural that the obscurer movements of nature should have more power there." ..."It is only if the mind is silent that the subconscient can be empty."....."If the subconscient is emptied, it would mean that you have got beyond the ordinary consciousness.....". My questions are-- a) How to see D30 to look for the subconscious mind of a person? b)How to see in D30 the possibility of a person making the subconscious mind empty as referred to by Sri Aurobindo?
