Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Ajit, It is good that you come out with some questions. We should not take the meaning literally. One who born out of Sun means, it is the outcome which evolved from Sun. Sun represents soul or the starting of life. When life is started, immediately, death accompanies it like shadow. So, they are at opposite ends. Sun is exalted at the opening or rising sign Aries, Saturn is exalted at exactly opposite in the maraka sthan of 7th house. While, in the reverse they are debilitated or unhappy. Similarly, we should not take Sun will not be unaware of Chaya. It is the maya surrounded in the world. Death itself is maya when the soul passes through many lives. This is how we should interpret the stories to the various meanings of Jyotish. That is why I asked the members to think and come out with some nice interpretations, which will help the beginners. I got so many points like this from the stories, but I will summaries them, after some lessons. Meanwhile, I want the members to share their interpretations. I think many like, Gopal Krishna can contribute.hare rama krishnaThe summaries which various people have posted and which are availableon the internet are very useful for those who have previously read thestories in full. For the rest of us...they are simply confusing. There are so many basic questions.Surya who shines with such splendour should have sons like gems. But wehave Saturn who always fights with him, and Karna who fought against thePandavas. (How can Surya be unaware of the switch of Sanja and Chaya?) ajit-- Ajit Krishnanajit (AT) csd (DOT) uwo.cahttp://www.csd.uwo.ca/~ajitYour use of is subject to the -------------------------- Please note the new International Hospital of Bahrain Email address. Guest guest
Dear All Just some addl thoughts: 1. Ma: From the story on Kartik versus Ganesh marrying 1st, we know why Ma is called Bramhachari (ie loosely translated as: the abstainer in terms of marriage/ sexual relationships) 2. Ke: Ke= Lord Ganesh is spiritual seeker, & ALSO a benefic for Upapada (ie gives marriage). Seems contradictory. The above-mentioned same story about Karkit vs Ganesh sheds light on the resolution. That is, Ke the headless seeker-of-the-head seeks moksh, but ALSO seeks marriage, as a way to settle down in life & be happy. There are various forms of/ urges leading to renunciation (arising from disillusiionmen, or no urge to wards: material comforts, family-continuation, partnership, etc). Ke's renunciation urge does NOT arise from the marriage one. As would, eg, one where Ve is in 8, etc Regards Nandan
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah ---------------- Shri Solai, Namaste. I have been “inactive” for quite sometime, but the discussions going on in the list goaded me to register my somewhat delayed response. I think Shri Ajit wondered how Saturn and Karna could have been Sun’s sons. Why not ? I recall from Nandan’s post on Sun: a)Sun had agreed to be lathed into 12 parts so that his brilliance would scale down to bearable limits and the world could survive …the ultimate “Sattwa” or a voluntary cutting down /surrender of ego/self for the sake of his responsibility. Don’t you see Karna here who sacrificed his natural kavaca / personal power for something he believed to be his duty, his Truth? Don’t you see Saturn here who stoically bears the “stigma” of the dark and feared lord despite having “light” at his core? I think Saturn’s where Sun has set limits to himself/totally “ciphered” himself. It’s in this darkness, in this dimension of himself, that he showcases other luminaries like the soft moon and the mildly twinkling stars. Is it possible otherwise? And, isn’t this quintessential Sun? b)I don’t think Sun, the dispassionate Entity, is overly worried about Light or Darkness, Usha or Chaya, because He is the Inner Light that shines unequivocally everywhere, in all circumstances. c)Sun agreed to be “embedded” while his brothers refused to do so. Nandan mentioned something about Sun riding on a single wheel(Ekachakra) representing perfect balance. The single wheel is balanced because it runs in a groove…chained to an untiring ceaseless routine that never faltered in so many millennia. Think of that dedication to duty despite loss of freedom and THAT iron discipline. Karna, Yama and Saturn again? Sri Rama also? d)A “dead egg” given up as no good, grew up to be the “Jyothi” that lights up the entire world by his sacrifice of ego and devotion to Dharma. Is there any one else who’s revered equally by devas, naras and asuras in the three worlds? Can any one else, save those sons of Sun that can cope with such tremendous sacrifice and unsavoury responsibility? NONE.
