Using files in site and attaching files to mails

There are many new members in our list and I welcome all of them. Meanwhile,

there are many queries about the usage of site. I will brief you the

access method and I will see that this message is added to the introductory

message. So that any new member will know this procedure.

 

1. Go to the following web page.

 

sjvc

 

2. The following message will appear in the screen, along with the details of

SJVC home page details.

Welcome, Guest

* Already a member? Sign in to

* Not a member? Join This Group

 

As you have already joined the group, click "Sign in to "

 

3. Another screen will appear with the following message.

 

"Sign in with your ID and password to continue. "

 

If you are a member enter your ID and password. If you are not a member,

there will be link in the left hand side "Sign up Now". Please click this link

and register. Once you finish there, remember your ID and password and again

you come back to this page (Paragraph 3). (If you are signing up for the first

time, during your registration process, you may be asked to give an alternate

email address, there please give your current email address, in which you are

sending and receiving emails from SJVC. This will help you in going further

steps).

 

4. Now, again the same screen as appeared in 2 above will show up with slightly different wordings.

 

Welcome, solai (in your case your user ID)

* Already a member? Activate your membership

* Not a member? Join This Group

 

Click "Activate your membership".

 

5. You will be moved to next page with following message.

 

"When you join a Group, your membership is associated with a specific

email address. If that email address isn't connected to the ID you use

to access the group on the Web; is not verified; or is connected to more than

one of your IDs, some of your group memberships may not be displayed on

the My Groups page.The Membership Wizard can help you locate your group

memberships using the information listed in your Account Info. You are

currently signed in as solai. We will look up the information for that

ID. (If you want to use a different ID, Sign in as a different

user.)Please press the "Continue" button below, and we will walk you through

the process."

 

Now, Click continue button

 

6. The following screen will appear.

 

"Step 1. Select the email addresses to use in searching for memberships.

We will locate your group memberships using the email addresses listed in your

Account Info. You can select from the list below or add a new address.

 

Please select the email addresses you would like to use below.(Add new email address)

** The email address, you are using for communicating with the group must appear

here for you to select. If it is not appearing here, please click "Add new email

address". And follow the instructions to add. After you added the email address,

come back to this screen again. Now your current egroup access email address

will appear and select it. Also Click the "verify" button nearer to it (if it

says so)**

 

Now click continue button. After this it is much simpler.

Once, you finish this registering and linking to ID, you can visit the

following SJVC group site without any problem.

Once, you come in, click the "Files" in the left hand menu and you can get all

the old lessons, birth data and an astronomical software.

 

Further, you can access all the old mails from the message. Plus, you can post

new messages from this site. Whoever has registered with their private email

address, other than web based email like , hotmail, excite, can use this

posting facility if they are away from their email access. However, you cannot

attach a file here. So for attachment, you have to send or post the mail

through your regular email, for example, if you are using hotmail, login to

Hotmail site and from there post the message with attachment.
