Guest guest
OM GURAVE NAMAH Pujya Phyll Guru and Jyotishas, The following is my birth data : 19 June 1977, 12:38 p.m , Bombay (72 E 50, 18 N 58), India. Ravi - Mithuna - 4deg 20 Chandra - Kataka - 2 deg 29 Kuja - Mesha -16 deg 11 Budha - Vrishabha - 21 deg 47 Guru - Vrishabha - 23 deg33 Sukra - Mesha - 18deg 40 Sani - Kataka - 20 deg 17 Rahu - Kanya - 27 deg 22 Kethu - Meena - 27 deg 22 Lagna - Kanya - 3 deg 49 I don't know how to find out from the chart that the native has an alcoholic father. Phyll Guru suggested me to look at Sun in the 10th being aspected by Rahu from Lagna. But, if Rahu (base acts, intoxication) is aspecting Sun (Pitru Karak) from Lagna by griha Drishti, then shouldn't the native also be an alcoholic (the native is not an alcoholic, atleast till now). Your ideas are kindly solicited. Thanks K.N.Sriram Sports - live college hoops coverage
Guest guest
OM GURAVE NAMAH Dear all, The following are extracts on MADA, one of the SHADRIPU (6 vices) associated with addiction. MADA Alcoholism or addiction in any form or manner. This addiction should also damage the body and make the mind a slave. that is why Saturn represents this particular weakness as it represents servitude/slavery whether to another master or inanimate object. FROM SANJAY RATH MADA may be translated by some people as alcoholism, but this is a narrow translation. The meaning with which this word was originally used is wantonness. If one is so intoxicated with his desire (of anything) that he forgets all the rules and morals and goes crazily after what he desires, he is exhibiting "mada". This word was applied in literature particularly in the case of a man madly pursuing a woman (e.g. Keechaka going after Draupadi in Mahabharata). Alcoholism is a very narrow translation. FROM NARISHIMA RAO MADA means the swagger that develops when one feels that he has either scholarship or strength or riches or fame, more than others. Even when one has not got these, Mada makes men move about without reverence for elders and consideration for others' feelings and craving only for one's own comfort and security. Mada is extreme egoism. FROM SAI BABA In the question related to the chart on an alcoholic parent. Saturn has his 10th(immediate punishment due to past misdeeds) aspect on the 9th lord (father) Venus who is in the 8th house with 8th lord. The Sun receiving Rasi dristi from the Nodes is also an affliction to Karaka for father. My chart has this same aspect of Saturn aspecting the 9th lord and I also had an alcoholic father. My own alcoholism can be seen from Saturn's aspect on 1st lord and 1st house. For recovery from addiction I look for the blessing of Jupiter in the chart which thankfully I have. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Pearl Gurudevi, Namaste. Ofcourse Saturn does represent drunkenness and being in the 4th (with Moon) from the 9th lord can represent affliction to father's mind. I was wondering whether Venus (intoxicating drinks), being the 9th lord itself indicates a natural propensity for such addictions and hence influence the above combination? Could Venus being in the 12th house from 9th house with Mars (pitrikaraka) also support losing of self through addictions to so called pleasures...despite the Father being inherently strong-Mars & Moon both in own houses. (I hope I am talking about the right chart!) Please correct me. Guest guest
om gurave namah------------------------Dear Lakshmi & pearl, Mada is intoxication, but in real life application in the present day, this is intoxication, especially if Gulika and mandi are also involved. The type and level etc of the addiction will vary. The best solution as Pearl has pointed out is Jupiter and His mantra OM TAT SAT. (Satyanarayana Vesha - Sri Ram. Achyuta Dasa teaches that Satyanarayana Vesha was adopted by Bhagavan only in the Sri Rama Avatara when He went to the jungles.) Narasimha is more accurate in the philosophical definition of the word, and I have stuck to the narrow application as in Jyotish charts. With best wishesSanjay RathWeb: http://sanjayrath.tripod.comServices: http://sanjayrath.tripod.com/zservices.htmJyotish Digest: http://jyotishdigest.com/SJVC: http://www.sjvc.org/ - lakshmi ramesh sjvc Monday, March 18, 2002 2:27 PM Re: [sjvc] Re: What shows and alcoholic parent Om Gurave Namah Pearl Gurudevi, Namaste.
