Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Sanjayji, I am enclosing my understanding of "Naarayana". Please correct the errors that have crept in. Matsyaavatara The world is mostly water. And at the end of each yuga , the creation would be wiped out by "pralaya" the apocalypse and the original status of water, water everywhere would be restored. Thus Water or Aapas is a symbol of purity, transparency and cleansing, equal to Agni, but with a vital difference. While fire represents the final cleansing to the core, destroying the body in the process, water cleanses and nourishes the body at the same time, so change and betterment is possible, without destruction. An embryo is surrounded by water which acts as an intelligent medium that both conducts and insulates, appropriately, depending on the need…so that the tiny lump of flesh can develop into an infant who can possibly change human history (Cancer-naisargika 4th house-Moon-the first "Jala" raasi). The Vaitharani river delimits life and death, purges the soul of its past memories and associations and readies it for its next sojourn. In astro-parlance, isn't Scorpio, the naisargika 8th house (2nd water sign) similar to this river, where life(moon) gets debilitated, and is lorded by Mars(Agni-Aries) and Ketu(Moksha-pisces)...destruction leading to rebirth or moksha. When "prana" exits from Brahma-"randhra", the mouth of Rudra, Ketu would lead the soul up to The Ganga, resident on Rudra's head (signifying overcoming of death?), and navigating in the retrograde (Ketu) and swimming "upstream" (gyanamaarga) all the way to the exalted origin of Ganga, the lotus feet of Narayana, The Purest One, and the home of Guru...Pisces(last "jala raasi"). By travelling thus, the thoroughly scrubbed "Nara" transforms into "Naarayana". Matsyaavatara in a way denotes the beginning of life…begining of a divine recurring theme of "paritraanaaya saadhunaam vinaasayacha dushkritam dharma samsthapanaardhaya sambhavaami yuge yuge." Paradoxically, it also marks a going back to the original simplicity, tranquility, and pristine purity of life, which involves slaying the demons and salvaging the Vedas- gyaana & dharma. It's a rediscovery & rightful restoration of the original purpose of life; a pointer to one's roots & the final destination...NARAYANA.
