Guest guest
Namaste Visti, thank you in advace for your help here and patience, yet after reviewing the rule again and again something does not fit right, and would like to revisit the rule again... please take a look at my logic and see if it holds water. If you compare Rule 4 ( page 22 ) of Narayan Dasa to the instructions given in Upadesa Sutras (pg 198-199) you will see a discrepency in who we discussed applying the rule for our earlier emails below and hence my confusion on what the application of therule, That is: 1.Upadesa sutra pg 198 , 2.3.9 gives sign strengh D>F>M - and does not mention the placement of the sign's lord. Just as Rule 4 of Narayan Dasa pg. 22. 2. Upadesa Sutra then goes on to 2.3.10 and says IF BOTH SIGNS ARE UNOCCUPIED then the sign whose lord becomes the AK is stronger - this equates to rule 5 of Narayan Dasa book pg. 22. POINT here is that if RULE 4 did infact consider the lords of signs that were unoccupied, there would be no need for Rule 5. if No AK applies then going to Rule 6 makes perfect sence becaue you established a sign with no planets, neither sign is the owner of the AK, so now it's time to evaluate the LORD of the signs and their degrees. Let me know what you think of the logic... my concern is simple, we are implying in rule 4 ( pg 22) that we evalute the lords of empty signs before its time to do so. I am evaluating Cancer v.s Capricorn - Neither rasi has a Graha in it... 2. I took rule four to evaluate IF both had equal number of planets, then evaluate the sign by Dual > Fixed> Movable. IF I am correct, you are suggesting that to LOOK where the Rasi lords reside and evaluate them, ( then) by Dual > Fixed> Movable. Is this your assessment? IF so , I am not reading the rule(s) correctly... Regards and Pranams. In this case Cancer, lorded by Moon in a dual sign becomes stronger. Best wishes, Visti. - Frank in Austin sjvc Saturday, April 20, 2002 8:50 PM [sjvc] Narayana Dasa for D10 Om asato maa sadgamayaTamaso maa jyotir gamayaMrityor Amritam GamayaOm Shanti Shanti Shantiye Namaste, Can Someone provide me with some guidance. I am calculating the Narayan Dasa for D10 chart ( shown below) I have calculated the Maha Dasa periods ( below), and am on Antardasa Periods. I am using the rules from Sanjayji's book ( Narayan Dasa) and am perplexed ( stuck) with the following: 1. First Maha dasa Period = Pisces A. Antaradasa dasa rule: * example -. determine the the stronger of the dasa sign (Pisces)and the 7th from it ( Virgo) - Pisces is stronger due to 2 graha's residing in Pi. -. Determine the sign occupied by its lord ( Guru) and this will be the starting Antardasa for Pisces ( its order is based upon odd or even sign of Sc, and in this case it's even, so the the order is anti-zodiacally or Sc, Li, Vi, Le, Cn, Ge, etc) 2. NOW my quandary: Next Maha dasa is Cancer, which is stronger Cn or Cp? A. Antaradasa rule -. Determine the stronger between dasa sign ( Cn) and 7th from it ( Cp). a. Both signs are without Graha's so which is stronger? Use Source of strength rules: Rule 2 , First source of strength ( pg21- Narayan Dasa book) Neither have planets. Rule 1, Second Source of Strength - aspects of Guru or Buddhi. Since Guru is in Sc, he gives Rasi drist to both Cn and Sg. Neither sign gets aspected by Buddhi. Rule 3 , First Source of Strength - If the sign has equal number of planets ( NO) then consider planet's status ( exalted, Moola, swakshetra, etc) - NOPE. Rule 4, First source of strength - Dual stronger than Fixed, and Fixed strong then movable; Both are Movable so still equal. Rule 5,6,7,8 First source of strength, do not seem applicable? b. UNLESS for Rule 6, I look at the Rasi LORDs ( Chandra and Sani - and determine their degrees and which one is more advanced ? Chandra is 15Ge29 and Sani is 11Li20. So Chandra is stronger - IS THIS A CORRECT ASSESSMENT? Please advise if possible...thank you Natives birth info: July 17, 1952Time: 15:22:30Time Zone: 6:00:00 (West of GMT)Longitude: 87 W 40' 25"Latitude: 41 N 54' 10" D1 Chart+--------------+|AL |Jup |Moo HL | || | | | || | | | || | | | || | | | ||-----------+-----------------------+-----------|| | |Sun Mer || | |Ven Ket || | | || | | || | | ||-----------| Rasi |-----------||Rah | |Mnd Glk || | | || | | || | | || | | ||-----------+-----------------------+-----------|| |Asc |Mar GL |Sat || | | | || | | | || | | | || | | | |+--------------+ D10 +--------------+|Sun Mar |Mnd |Ven |Moo Rah || | | | || | | | || | | | || | | | ||-----------+-----------------------+-----------|| | | || | | || | | || | | || | Dasamsa | ||-----------| |-----------|| | D-10 | || | | || | | || | | || | | ||-----------+-----------------------+-----------||Mer Ket |Jup GL |Sat HL |Asc ||Glk AL | | | || | | | || | | | || | | | |+--------------+ Narayan Maha Dasa for d10 Sign Ruler Odd footed: zodiacalEven Footed: Anti-zodiacal Distance to lordIn Rasi - forwd or anti- zodiacal First CycleLength of Dasa Running Totalyrs i.e. up to age Year from July 17th,1952Year ending Notes Pisces Guru E 4 4 4 1956 Cancer Chandra E 1 1 5 1957 Scorpio Ketu* O 2 2 7 1959 Ketu exalted Sag Guru O 11 11 18 1970 Aries Mangla O 11 11 29 1981 Leo Ravi E 5 5 34 1986 Virgo Buddha E 9 9 43 1995 Capricorn Sani E 4 4 47 1999 Sani exalted Taurus Sukra O 12 12 59 2011 Venus in own house Gemini Buddha O 6 6 65 2017 Libra Sukra O 7 7 72 2024 Aquarius Rahu* E 9 9 81 2033 Rahu exalted Your use of is subject to the
