Re: [sjvc] Question on Istha devata

Vyam Vysadevaya Namah

--------

Dear Dean,

This must be the 10th time this question comes up.

After i answer this question, i employ you to give everyone else the same answer if asked AGAIN.

Look at the 12th from Karakamsa.

If its occupied by any Grahas, then the stronger will indicate the Istha. The

specific form of this Istha is seen from the same Graha in Rasi.

If there are no grahas in the 12th, then see the lord.. This will indicate the ACTUAL Istha!

The grahas influencing this 12th, indicates the deities leading to the Istha.

Principle is that you can choose either. Both will lead the person in the right

direction. Sometimes the person will respond easier to the messenger rather

than the king.

Now everyone can ask you about the Istha.

Best wishes, Visti.

[sjvc] Question on Istha devata

Dear Sanjay and other,

Namaste.

I would like to ask for clarification. In your book "Vedic remedies in

astrology" you mentioned that Istha devata is determined by the strongest

planetary influence on the 12th from the AK in navamsa. Further it is stated

that stronger influence is determined like this;

first - planet or planets that are in the karakamsa (stronger of planets if

there are more planets);

second - aspects on this sign and

third - lord of the sign.

In the lesson on Istha devata, that was on Varahamihira list, it is stated like

this - If the planet occupy the karakamsa then this planet indicate Istha

devata, if none occupy then we look at the lord of the sign as significator of

Istha devata. There is no mention about aspects.

Can you give some clarification on this, please.

Thank you very much.
