Guest guest
Respected Guruji and learned members, How to pronounce the mantra 'Om gang ganpataye namah'. Actually, in several sites I read it as 'Om gam .....' but i remember my sanskkrit that 'gam' is to go. But if I compare with other similar Beej mantras it compels to pronounce as 'Om Gam........'. Please Guide. HARE KRISHNA Sign-up for Video Highlights of 2002 FIFA World Cup
Guest guest
You have asked the gurus but excuse me - i am jumping in. Living in the city which has one of the places where Lord Ganesh is prayed a lot i have myself been reciting this small mantra of and on whenever i feel - so, i can help you. It is to be pronounced "Gana". Now, in astrology there is something called as Gan - ex Rakshak Gan, Dev Gan etc. Now, take that pronounciation and add the word in hindi that comes after "Dha" ; then try reciting this and you will get the right pronounciation. It is very difficult to explain in words but if you listen to it then you will be able to get it. It will be not very hard for you to pronounce it. Now, the same will be used when reciting the word "Ganpataye" Guru's / Senior Members Kindly Correct me if i am wrong. I hope this helps. Guest guest
i dont agree with u at all. the 'gana' as u said is not the one included in the mantra it is written very differently in hindi/sanskrit. what i asked was 'ga' with anuswaar i.e. bindi on it. your 'gana' is a two letter word and mine (gang/gam) a single one.
