Yellow sapphire questions

I am looking to get a yellow sapphire but need more info regarding the following:

There are tones of yellow colors from very light yellow(nearly colorless) to

medium-light yellow to dark yellow. Which one is preferred and why?

VRA advises 7 or 13 ratis. However, it is almost impossible to get the exact

weight. If the weight is a little more than 7 or 13 ratis is that ok? thanks,
