Guest guest
Dear Sarbani, How come jyotishdigest.com is being sold? Does the site belong to that Milosevic or whoever? I thought it was Sanjay's... Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com - Sarbani Sarkar Varahamihira ; Sjvc Friday, September 27, 2002 5:17 PM [sjvc] SJVC: the way forward Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Dear Fellow Jyotishas and Gurus, We have all been disturbed by what has been transpiring at SJVC during the past 24 hours. As informed by Robert Koch in his mail, the SJVC web site (http://www.sjvcusa.org) has been hacked. We now have the information that this has been taken over along with the Jyotish Digest web site (http://jyotishdigest.com). There is nothing that we can do about this, save let the anguished soul who is doing these deeds, burn out his karma and follow his destiny. We can only pray that the Divine Mother shows him the correct path. We can take an adversarial stance and adopt the path of confrontation, but as Sanjayji pointed out, in a discussion earlier in the day, that our path in SJVC is to learn and spread the knowledge, that is jyotisha and not to be confrontational, which might encourage any form of violence. It is better that we do not let this negative energy influence us, and get involved in activities which are prone to conflicts; but rather that we continue in our chosen path towards our desired goal. Since SJVC is taken over technically (read legal), maybe we should continue by re-registering ourselves under a new name? An appealing suggestion for a new name is Shri Jagannath Centre (SJC). We simply drop the 'V' and continue in Jagannath's name! After all, our astrological studies are not limited merely to the Vedic period but encompasses post Vedic scholars like Varahamihira, as well as contemplating modern interpretations and inputs. Nor are we restricted by a narrow definition of jyotish. Anchoring in jyotish, we delve into the deep oceans of spirituality and religion and other allied subjects. So maybe, simply Shri Jagannath Centre, is the best name that we can have, for after all He is all encompassing and omnipresent! This is an appeal to all of you to put aside and ignore what is happening and not to let someone else's bad karma deflect us from our path. We can perhaps pray together with compassion that he is saved by the divine light and remember that we all are vulnerable to succumb to such wayward actions at any point in time. We appeal to our gurus and fellow jyotishas as to whether this path of action, that is of moving forward 'constructively', is one which is acceptable to them, and that we should harness our energies together, in this moment of need, to ensure the continuity of our parampara. Do write back with your suggestions. Hare Rama Krishna, Sarbani Your use of is subject to the

Guest guest
Hello Ramapriya, Whois domain query shows the following: ---------------- Domain Name: JYOTISHDIGEST.COM Administrative Contact: Dejan Kocic dnd108 Dejan Kocic 9701 Venice Blvd. #7 Los Angeles, Ca 90034 US Phone: 310 837 7269 Fax: Technical Contact: Dejan Kocic dnd108 Dejan Kocic 9701 Venice Blvd. #7 Los Angeles, Ca 90034 US Phone: 310 837 7269 Fax: Record updated on 2002-06-07 20:13:07 Record created on 2002-01-25 Record expires on 2003-01-25 Database last updated on 2002-09-27 22:50:10 EST ============================= *****What it means***** Someone named "Dejan Kocic" is the owner of this domain. If SJVC or Sanjay were the owner of this domain, the "Administrative contact" should've shown SJVC or Sanjay's contact information. So, "Dejan" can effectly do anything he/she likes with this domain. Dejan also updated some items in the registry database: "Database last updated on 2002-09-27 22:50:10 EST". The domain points to 66.78.26.22 (a server belonging to vdi.net) which I think is leased to some virtual webhosting company. Slobberdamn Milosevic is locked up in Hague awaiting trial for crimes against humanity. I don't see how he could be even remotely related to any of this. *****What can be done***** Besides legal action, nothing. The owner can give the domain back to SJVC for administrative control out of kindness of his/her heart. Another domain can be registered with the "jyotishdigest" second level domain name for the Jyotish Digest magazine.
