Om namah sivaya

Dear all,

Had some further time today to go through lessons 4 and 5. Am attempting

to put some answers related to 4 down on paper. Feel that I need to

spend more time on 5 to get further clarity in my head before attempting

any answers.

Respectfully yours,

ss

Exercise 2

===========

Identify one character of each planet from your Rasi and Navamsa and write how

it influences you in its Dasa or Antardasa.

I am looking to interpret some of these based on my actual experiences (in the

past) and others (being a bit more progressive and optimistic) potential

happenings in the future.

Planet Characteristics Implication

================================================================================\

======================

Sun (Senses - Right Eye) Issues associated with Right Eye

-- During this Surya mahadasa (77/78) I had issues with my Right eye, it needed

two operations and extensive trips to the hospital. I suppose it happened during

the Saturn antardasa and debilitated Saturn in my natal chart is giving a 10th

aspect to Sun... Doesn't debilitated Saturn reduce the negative effects of

Saturn? Further, trying to incorporate some of my learnings from my early

readings in lesson 5, it being a Chara rasi (Capricorn), it got cured.

Moon (Person) Issues concerning the mother will be dealt with

-- Not sure what interpretation I can bear from my chart based on my experience.

Cannot say that something significant happened to her health. She started her

career as a teacher (around the beginning of the mahadasa) and continued

thereon. She still does it even though she is past retirement age. Guess that is

the 'Sthira' nature of Leo where my natal moon is. How do I interpret this? If

Moon represents the mother, taking it as lagna, 10th house (occupation) is

Taurus - Lorded by Venus that aspects Taurus and gets an aspect from Jupiter

(Guru) as well. Is this a sufficient condition to interpret the career as a

teacher? Can this be read from my mahadasa?

Mars (Main Aspect - Strength/

Planetary Cabinet - Army chief) Strong willpower and ability to achieve.

Focus on results.

-- During this Mahadasa, especially given Mars is in its own sign (though in 8th

house??). I was indeed very focused and driven in my career (sometimes to the

cost of some friendships.

Mercury (Main aspect) Focus on speech and communications

(Caste - Vaishya) Focus on business/trade

-- During this Mahadasa, I would expect to be strong in my speech and ability to

communicate and potentially focus on building a business / engaged in a business

related activity?

Jupiter (Main aspect) Focus on wisdom and happiness

-- During this period, I would expect fulfilment of desires, happiness and

growth in spiritual learning. Potentially a time for children?

Venus Chief Aspect / Person Focus on one's passions. Wife

Gunas Rajasic

-- Will be a period where I am passionate and focused on sharing experiences

with my wife. I would tend to expect an increase in Rajasic qualities.

Saturn Chief Aspect Misery and Grief;

Body Tissues Nerves

-- Guess this will be a period of tough times. A debilitated Saturn might reduce

the impact of this to some extent (though it is exalted in Navamsa - What is the

implication there?) and I am likely to have issues with my nerves?

Rahu (Gunas) Increase in tendency to be tamasic

-- I would expect during this dasa to have a more tamasic nature and hence the

need to focus on the spiritual nature and prayers to overcome this obstacle.

== Would definitely like to get extensive feedback on this.

Respectfully yours,

SS
