Understanding house lord position.

Dear Gurudeva and Jyotishas,

Narayana,Suresha and me had a lengthy conversation on bhava lord

positions the last weekend. We came up with certain points. I request

all to send their views. Narayana and Suresh can tell if I missed

certain points.

 

To Understand the position of each bhava lords placement in various

houses the following points have to be taken in consideration.

 

Lets call that a planet goes from source house A to desctination

house B.

 

1. Bhava lord itself. (Like Aries lord mars etc. Don't consider this

if you want to consider generally)

 

2. Source Bhava lord Kaaraka.

Each bhava has a kaaraka planet(s). For houses 1 to 12 As per BPHS

gives one planet per bhava.

The Karakatwas of the Bhava in order are Sûrya, Guru, Man̄gal, Candr, =

 

Guru, Man̄gal, Úukr, Úani, Guru, Budh, Guru and Úani. || BPHS 32.34||

 

Additionally some more bhava Kaarakas are given in Jataka Parajita ,

CoVA etc

 

a) Venus (for vehicles), and mercury (for relatives, bandu?) to 4th

house.

b) moon, mercury for 2nd house.

b) Sun(for authority) to 5th house

c) Saturn to 6th house

d) Sun to 9th house

e) Saturn, Sun , Moon to 10th house

f) Mercury for friends to 11th house.

g) Ketu(moksha) and Venus(bed) to 12th house

 

3. Destination house kaaraka. (Evaluate like 2)

 

4. Traversed house kaaraka. Assume this kaarak to sit in destination

house.

 

House distance travelled from A to B House Kaaraka. B-A = T (do

zodical difference). T is the houses traversed.

If 10th lord goes to say the 6th house the traversed distance is 9

houses. So consider 9th house kaaraka Jupiter and Sun. Assume them to

be like in 6th house.

 

As per our discussion we felt. When a planet travels T houses it

gathers some properties of the house distance traversed. This

principle like Chara Kaaraka where when a planet traverses certain

degrees within house it becomes Atma kaaraka, Bratri (brother)

kaaraka etc. This priciple is reflected also in zodiacal house

traversal.

 

Please refer to 6th house chapter in CoVA and 10th house Chapter in

CoVA. Where 6th lord going to 2nd and 10th lord going to 3rd house is

described.

 

5. Remained house kaaraka. i.e from destination to source house.

B-A = R (do zodical subtraction). Assume this kaaraka to be 'like'

source house

like for 10th lord going to 6th house

B(destination) - A(source) = 6 - 10 = 5th house. Consider the 5th

house kaarak Jupiter and Sun. Assume this to be 'like' in 10th house.

 

6. Natural relationships between all these kaarakas.

 

7. Rashi of source (A) and destination (B). Like jupiter kaaraka will

exalt in cancer etc.

 

8. Natural Zodical positions. Like natural kaaraka of sun will tend

to debilitate in 7th house As 7th house is libra in natural Zodical.

 

9. Other Basics like Kaaraka bhava nasya etc.

 

 

For Example consider 10th lord going to 6th house.

 

10th kaaraka: Mercury(good deeds), Sun(identity), Saturn(service),

Moon(Beuracracy), Jupiter(planning).

6th Kaarak: Mars and Saturn

 

If Karm's Lord is in Ari Bhava, the native will be bereft of paternal

bliss. Although he may be skilful, he will be bereft of wealth and be

troubled by enemies.

 

Since 10th kaaraka sun is going to 6th house where it may becomes

inimical to 6th kaarak saturn the paternal bliss may lack. (If the

friendly Mars kaaraka of sixth house does not help)

 

Since 10th kaarak Mercury will be friendly to 6th kaaraka Saturn

Skills maybe good as 6th is also artha trikona.

 

Since 9 houses are traversed from 10 to 6th. The 9th house kaaraka

Jupiter gets debilated with 6th kaaraka Saturn. So wealth may lack.

(provided the other friendly 6th kaaraka Mars is not strong enough to

help jupiter).

 

Since 10th house kaaraka also has a Saturn and destination also has

saturn enemies may increase.

 

Also readings like may do government work, Judicial, health service

etc is given in HTJH(How to judge horoscope). For 10th lord in 6th

 

Government,Judicial work is possible like 10th house has sun and

Jupiter as kaaraka and distance travelled is 9 houses which also has

Jupiter and Sun which is like sitting in 6th house. Also destination

to source is 5 house whose kaaraka(jup) is 'like' sitting in 10th

house.

 

Similar readings can be attempted for other lord traversals.
