I have also posed some questions. Please continue the papers I sent into tomorrows class as well so that the procedure and principles become very clear to all. ~ om tat sat ~ Yours truly, Sanjay Rath --------------------------- H-5, B.J.B Nagar, Bhubaneswar 751014, India +91-674-2436871 http://srath.com <http://srath.com/> --------------------------- sentto-1045255-5063-1053680483-srath=vsnl.com [sentto-1045255-5063-1053680483-srath=vsnl.com]O\ n Behalf Of Sarbani Sarkar Friday, May 23, 2003 2:38 PM SJC: Achyuta Gurukulam; Varahamihira [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] SJC Delhi - doubts regarding curses Dear Sanjayji and other Gurus, (For those of you who may wonder why we don't put up our discussions on the list: we have class every Sunday as Shiv Pujan takes our classes. Prior to that Sanjayji used to take them. So our doubts get cleared in class itself. Once in a while when our teachers are absent, we are send notes and assignments by Sanjayji, in lieu of his absence. We then put up our questions on the list.) In last Sundays class we were given an assignment on curses and how to read evil yogas in a chart. The two examples that we had to work on was Christopher Reeve's and Sri Rama's charts. Those present were Rohini Purang, Uma Purang, Saroj Tomar, Gaurav Varma, Deepika Sanghi, Suneet Kumar, Prashant Narang, Eric and myself. [Rath:] What happened to the others? Some names are always missing in this list. We had a doubt regarding Rama's chart. Our class notes clearly stated that the graha drishti of at least two malefics were essential for a curse. Secondly, benefics which were being cursed, represented the person cursing. In Rama's chart Jupiter and Moon are being affected. Jupiter represents the curse of a Brahmin, in this case Maharshi Narada. Since Moon is conjoined Jupiter, it shows that the curse will be actualised through mother, that is Kaikeyai. But will Moon by itself also represent a second curse, a matri shaap, or Moon is only acting as a medium? Ideally Moon should also show a second curse, apart from executing Jupiter's curse. If so, then whose? Will there be a pitri shaap as well? Sun is aspected by Saturn, Rahu and Mars. If not, why? (For those who do not have Rama's chart: Lagna: Cancer with Jupiter and Moon, Saturn in 4th in Libra, Rahu in 6th in Sagittarius, Mars in 7th in Capricorn, Venus in 9th in Pisces, Sun in 10th in Aries, Mercury in 11th in Taurus and Ketu in 12th in Gemini. AL and UL are in Sagittarius.) [Rath:] Rohini also had a similar question about the chart of Cristopher Reeve where the curse of uncle was mentioned by me. Now, follow this procedure in determining curse. 1) There will be ONLY ONE primary curse for which the birth/appearance of the native has occured. The others will be supplemental and will only support the curse indications. 2) When two or more curses exist, determine the most benefic natural benefic planet in the lot of curses. It is this that constitutes the primary curse. Others do not exist independantly nor do any remedies have to be done for them. If the primary curse is forgiven, then all supplements are also forgiven. So, remedy is ONLY FOR the primary curse. 3) In addition to curses list out the various dosha like sankranti birth, amavasya or krishna chaturdasi birth etc i.e. flaws of time. If there is a curse and such a dosha exists, then the curse will afflict the dosha also. Cure to the dosha shall also come when the curse lifts or is forgiven. Now examine the chart of Sri Rama. Here you will see (a) Curse of Brahmin [Jup in lagna aspected by Mars & Saturn] and (b) curse of Mother [Moon in Lagna aspected by Mars & Saturn] and © Curse of father [sun in 10 aspected by Rahu, Mars and Saturn]. Thus there are THREE curses in the chart of Sri Rama. However, the sacred Ramayana records ONLY ONE curse as that being of the greatest Brahmana - Narada muni. So, the principle of recording the curse as being of the greatest natural benefic is being followed. Among the Jupiter (Brahmin), Moon (Mother) and Sun (Father), the most benefic planet is Jupiter. So, the curse is ONLY that of Brahmin. The other two shall act as supplementary to the major curse and during the Moola dasa of Saturn, the Pirti curse acted in such a way that Maharaja Dasaratha was compelled to deprive Rama of the legitimate throne. See the curse is on the 10th house where the Sun is placed. The Sun causes Simhasana Yoga as the 2nd Lord in the 10th house in exaltation, and yet this Simhasana yoga is obstructed by the 'supplementary' curse. So, when the curse of the Brahmin was to operate, Sri Rama was deprived of His throne. this deprivation of throne is attributed to the supplemental 'curse of father - Sun'. Now, that was not all. Sri Rama also had to go to vanvas (exile). Why? Moon is Lagna lord in Lagna and will represent mother land (i.e. the Land where the 'cultural limitation is that of the MOTHER TONGUE'. I have seen recently how people were arguing in the VA list about political man-made boundaries! Anyway back to the point. So, the curse of Mother was another supplemental curse and Sri Rama was banished from the kingdom for the period of the MOOLA DASA (14 years) of saturn. Thus, the primary curse was that of the Brahmin and suplemental curses that acted along with the same were those of the father and mother. Remedy: Sri Rama established the Rameswara Shiva Linga and offered prayers to Lord Shiva Who is the PRATYADHI DEVATA of the SUN i.e Agni carries the prayers to the devatas and then the devatas based on the permission given by Lord Shiva, shall forgive. This is because of the Tapas bala (fire of penance) of Lord Shiva. So, Sri Rama has also taught us what to do when we come under a curse or such terrible things idicated by saturn. Follow Sri Rama blindly and do exactly as He did and the sins will go. Infact the very name 'Rama' is enough to remove all curses and sins. Also we must learn that Rama never ever thought ill of His father or mother and instead showed us what is the meaning of the word 'maryada'. In todays world people are forever cursing and shouting at their father and mother for small things they are deprived of. I hope it is clear now as to what curse means. So, here the curse was of Brahmin and supplements were those of father and mother. CASE STUDY-01 for next class Chart attached Now see my own chart: 7 August 1963 9:15 PM IST, Sambalpur, India 84E01' 21N28. My questions for next Sunday (tomorrow's class) - 1) List out the Primary and supplemental curses. 2) How will this manifest 3) What is the remedy (specific mantra etc..be very specific as this is what you have to do in real life when someone comes for help). 4) What should be my attitude towards the various people. 5) List out the doshas and how will they manifest. 6) How long is the period of the curse and from when to when. (I want dates not stories please (smile!). Christopher Reeve's chart has two curses. Since Saturn is linked to both of them, his fall of the horse and subsequent paralysis occurred in Saturn dasha. We were assigned to seek remedies for him. We were unanimous in feeling that a ugra rupa of Devi, like Kali, was the only remedy for him. His ishta is Venus, placed in Scorpio, and aspected only by Saturn (rashi drishti) from Cancer. Venus would imply Lakshmi. This is strengthened by the fact that Venus is in Libra in the 4th in Rashi. But some students felt that since Venus was in Scorpio it should be Chamunda. We need a clarification on that. His palana karta is Saturn in Cancer. Palana devata is usually Devi, so we opted for Kali. His BK is also Saturn. Saturn is thus linked to his ishta, palana devata and his BK. Saturn is the planet causing the fructification of both the curses in its dasha, while it was transiting his 8th house, forming kantaka from lagna and ardha-kantaka from Moon. (The Navamsa lagna is also in nidhanamsa with a pishacha badhak). Given all these indications everyone opted for Kali as the remedy. The question also arises, will propitiation of Mercury, in the form of worship of Vishnu, help? The second curse is the worst, with Mercury being the lord of dusthanas, and the cause of his paralysis. [Rath:] There are two curses here as well (1) mercury is a natural benefic aspected by 3 malefics, and (2) Sun is aspected by Saturn and Rahu. Thus two things will happen - accident causing paralysis and ALSO loss of work (Sun) and earnings i.e. his rajyoga ended. How did you miss this most obvious thing. Hope this clears everything. Please get back to me on those questions. CASE STUDY - 02 for next class Chart attached Srila Prabhupada: September 1, 1986; 3:24' PM LMT, Cal, India Questions: 1) Is there some curse(s) in this chart? If so, then what are they and which one shall predominate? 2) What is the difference in the meaning and manifestation of the curse if the Lagna is (a) Sagittarius, (b) Capricorn, and based on real life, which is the correct lagna. 3) What remedy did Sri Prabhupada do consciously or unconsciously to remove the curse? What was the period of curse and compare this with the chart of Sri Rama. 4) What did Sri Rama do after completing the effect of the curse? Compare this to what Sri Prabhupada did. CASE STUDY -03 for next class Chart attached Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu February 27, 1486 5:55':47" PM LMT 88E22 23N28 Questions 1) Make a thorough list (do not miss anything) of the curses, doshas etc in the chart. Which is the primary dosha/curse? 2) Compare this to the chart of Sri Rama and explain as to why Sri Chaitanya was always travelling around India or at Puri for the most part of this worldly existance. 3) What was the remedy that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did to come out of the curse? Time the exact effect and period of the curse. 4) What was the dharma path of Sri Chaitanya, and why? THEORY Questions: 1) What is the meaning of such curses in the charts of such high people? 2) What is it that we learn from these great lives? How did they suffer their curses? Did they cry or curse or did they smile? If so, then what is it that made them so strong against such great evils. 3) Sanischara (Saturn) is the great benefic in a sence that by punishing us thoroughly in this world (Bhu loka) he ensures that we dot have to go to Narka (the worst hell below the seven talas) See Bhagavat Purana for more details on this where Sani fights with the lord of Narka and other hells. So, is Saturn a *real benefic* in the spiritual sense? Does he deserve the status of Dharma-raja? 4) After completing this lesson you will learn to smile even when the worst sin and suffering is heaped on you - the maryada of Rama shall protect all Jyotisha. Jaya Sri Ram Sanjay Rath P.S. 1. No questions on the remaining portions???!! Or maybe you want to ask them in private to me. Rohini ji. Are you satisfied? 2. Remember to give printouts of the MOOLA DASA with each chart.
