Dear Member,

A great burning desire to learn Astrology and

never ending restlessness to attain the final

knowledge ,coupled with indescribable love and

thirst for gaining "real" knowledge of the

subjectmatter , I believe is the qualification to

be a student of Astrology.

With regards and best wishes,

Jagannathan.

Dear Members,

Why should we be so judgemental in the first place?

I really cannot understand why all the Astrology books

talk about teaching astrology only if the person is

good etc. Who are we to judge whether a person is good

or bad ? Lets leave all the judging part to GOD. I

guess it is only the result of the probable presence

of 'caste system' which classified people based on who

they are and what they are born with. Ofcourse but

that is the basis of Astrology isnt it? Judging a

chart is basically judging what a person is born with.

Personally speaking, because of this I am always in

two minds whether to really go deep into Astrology, as

a learner or otherwise. God forbid, if I become like

one of those who judge someone good or bad (based on

chart) and decide whether he or she is suitable to

learn astrology. How castiest !

Just approach Astrology with enthusiasm and interest

and good clean intentions.

Regards,

AC.

Dear AC,

I do not find the logic behind your saying the castiest bit. The

shlokas telling whom to teach astrology do not mention anything about

caste. Do you have any shlokas mentioning this? Please let us have them

so that everybody's knowledge grows.

Dear Chandrashekhar,

It is not 'cast' per say. BUT see what is the

principle involved in caste system? Discrimate against

a person because of where he is born....i.e.

judge/discrimate against someone because of what he is

born with and hence does not have any control over.

Hence I said 'castiest'. Because when we say a person

is bad/good as per his/her chart and not as per

his/her actions then obviously we are being castiest.

So if we follow the shoklas which say that only a

'good' person deserves to learn astrology then it is

like re-enforcing some past negative attritubes of our

culture, namely the cast system or the castiest way of

dealing with people.

I hope i could put my point across clearly.

Thanks,

AC
