Guest guest
This yeat some people perform Upakarma( Avani Avittam) on July the 12th and some people observe on August 11th/12th. Which one is correct ? Is this only based on family traditions or is there any specific astrological combinations that needs to be satisifed? (other than the fact that it needs to be on a full moon day) Raghu Avali
Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Raghu, The only reason that I know of is the specific Veda under which the family is classified. Sama Veda upakarma is always after the regular upakarma for Rig and Yajur Veda.I am not aware of any astrological reason. My famliy follows the Sama Veda and all our dates are different.Hope that helps.
