Hare Rama Krishna

Gurudeva Sanjay Ji,

Pranams to you again and again.

My chance question has brought to surface once again the most

beautiful, truest and sacred facet of Vedic Astrology through your

last mail on this special occassion of Guru Purnima.

As you mention in COVA (page 89), the the concept of Siva(SUN-KETU)

and Shakti(Moon-Rahu) is the root of Vedic Astrology. This is what

becomes more clear from your last message.

AS I meditate on your mail, I understand the TWO stages for the SUN

(Soul) to be :

STAGE 1. When SUN(ATMA) is influenced by MOON(MANA) and RAHU

(DESIRES) and thus gets ECLIPSED. This eclipse of the SUN is infact

eclipsing of the SPIRITUAL CONCSCIOUSNESS of man. The SOUL becomes

EGO and is bound by world of MAYA and DESIRES (RAHU). It is a gross

level of only BODY CONSCIOUSNESS and repeated rounds of birth,

rebirth and its sorrows.

STAGE 2. Repeated rounds of birth and death and its sorrows

ultimately invokes the SOUL to look beyond body, to look for

purpose, aim and Ultimate Goal of life ie Liberation. It is at this

stage that GOD sends a GURU(SIVA). It is Guru who leads his disciple

from Darkness(GU) to Light(RU).This is the conjunction of the SUN

with KETU where the SOUL is delighted to be with the MOKSHKARAKA.

However at STAGE 2, the journey has just started, the SOUL has

started on its way back to its Source. The Soul has started getting

gimpses of its true nature through Gurus Grace, however, it has

tedious journey ahead full of self discipline and sadhna.

THUS about THOUGHT 2, it would be said that the man tries live with

awareness, not creating unnecessary desires, away from the realm of

Mana and moving towards Moksha by GURUS help.Quoting my spiritual

Gurudeva Paramahansa Yogananda Ji, his mantra would be :

"This Can Wait and That Can Wait, But Your Search For God Cannot

Wait."

Gurudeva Sanjay Ji, I sincerely bow at your feet on this Holy

occasion of Guru Purnima and seek your blessings for myself and for

all your students and disciples, for our true progress on this

sacred path of jyotir vidya.

Pranams,

Rajat

> The Sun (atma) is eclipsed when the Moon (Mana) conjoins it and

the Moon is in the latitude as the orbital plane of the earth where

the intersection points are the nodes (Rahu & Ketu). It is this Rahu

that is said to cause the eclipse. Simiarly, the Rahu of our lives

is our own desires and sice Rahu is a node of the Moon (mana), the

desires are the creation of the mind. It is the coming together or

conjunction of the atma (Sun), mana (Moon) and desires (Rahu) that

causes an eclipse or birth itself.

>

> Just as the brilliance of the Sun is really not diminished during

an eclipse, but not visible from the viewpoint of this earth due to

the shadow, similarly the power of true cognition remains suspended

during the course of life just as it does when a person is asleep

and is unaware of what transpires during his sleeping state. It is

only when one awakens that you realise the world around you. In a

similar way, the atma (self) exists in all purity even though unseen

due to the veil of the maya. And just as a person awakening and

realising that he was asleep and dreaming, similarly, spiritual

awakening causes the person to recognise his true self (atma) and

this is self realisation. Simultaneously he realises that the

previous state was that of ignorance and was untrue in all respects.

life) is the form of the Guru enabling us to cross over these myriad

dreamy states and finally awaken and realise our true nature, the

eternal truth. That we are spiritual beings (called Atma) having a

material (sareera) experience (mana).

>

> Thought#02: What happens after a person realises his true nature?

Realises that he is veriably that atma and that the atma has

manifested due to desires? He has a few options -

> 1. He ignores all pain and suffering and works diligently towards

the fulfillment of those desires. [Atmesvara gati]

> 2. He gives up those desires and continues to exist in his new

state.[Mukti -freedom from the bondage of (the present) desire]

> 3. He gives up desires and seeks escape from this cycle of

rebirth. [Moksa - freedom from the bondage of rebirth]

> 4. He gives up desires and seeks union with the penultimate source

from where his real self appeared. [Param padam]

effected adversely due to this conjunction with malefic

Ketu. However, on the level of the Soul, this is a Spiritual

Conjunction, causing SIVA YOGA, making the native go after

spirituality and self realization with all the strenghth of the soul.

What planets cause Solar Eclipse and what does it result to in a

natives' chart.
