Guest guest
The godha is a gosapa which is a four legged serpent. It is mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam - Canto 3, Chapter 10, Text 24 as an animal with 5 nails on each claw (panca-nakhas). That sounds like a lizard to me! , "Swee Chan" <swee@c...> wrote: > Jaya Jagannatha > > Dear Members, > > Namaste > > The following is what I have found from Prsna Marga Part 1 pg 105 > Slokas: 153-154 > > If you hear anybody uttering the names of hogs, serpents, ahre, godha > (can someone give the meaning of this word?) etc., IT IS GOOD. > To see or hear the cries of the monkey and the bear is good, > > BUT to hear their names uttered is bad. > > To see or hear the cries of an elephant, horse or an ox is also good. > > BV Raman also quoted from Varahamihira's Brihat Samhita in his notes in > Prsna Marga. > Hope this will be helpful to all for some nimittas in prsna reading. > > Best wishes, > > Swee > SJC, Zambia
Guest guest
Dear dhamakesin, Your explanation sounds very close to the 4 legged animal like a lizard, but if you refer the page 104, Stanza 152, BV Raman Ji, did mentioned about Lizard and Godha at the same time. By reading that it tells me that, Godha could be some thing other than Lizard though. I may be wrong here. Let us wait for Guru's reply to this.
