Guest guest
||Namah Shivaaya|| Dear Jay, I'm jumpiing in a little late, but the Classics on the light of the Stars also reveal more.... ================================ Brihat Jataka: CHAPTER IV Stanza 22: If Makara or Kumbha navamsa rises at the time of conception, aspected by Sani, the child will be born after 4 years. If Katakamsa rises at the time of conception, aspected by Chandra, then the birth occurs after 12 years of pregnancy. ================================ Why Makar or Kumbh alone? Why the aspects of Shani? Why 4 years? Why Chandra? Why 12 years? There is much more said here, than what the Maharishis revealed to us. I do not have the reasons for this, but am reflective, as are many... Hope that this helps. Nitin. :> ||Namah Shivaaya|| -- "dhamakesin" <dhamakesin Thu, 05 Feb 2004 06:48:08 -0000 >Dear J, > >Each moment and location is significant, as the birth of something. >Such as a prasna chart, which is cast for the moment the astrologer >answers the question at his location. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Nitin, Good work on the classics. You should also refer to Saravali, which is probably one of the best classics with the knowledge of the time before birth. Take this in comparison with Phala Deepika which doesn't speak one word about the conception and time in the womb… There is a very good reason for that. Kalyan Verma states; "Should Saturn's Navamsa rise whilst Saturn is in the 7th house, the native will be born after 3 years." Note its 3 years and not 4… look at Brhat Jataka again. People have understood this as Saturn's delaying nature causing a late birth, but now see what the author adds; "Should Moons Navamsa rise (cancer) and Moon be placed in the 7th house, the birth will occur after 12 years." Some have interpreted this differently, but the fact remains that Moons addition prolongs the time of birth. Now here Kalyan Verma has given us some VERY important clues. First of all the 7th house shows the end of the time in the womb, hence the need for Graha's in the 7th house. Secondly the word used is NISHEKA – not Adhana. This implies that the Atma in the form of a living seed has entered into the womb, but just like the seeds shed loosely by Siva and other Gods, the time for adhana (initiation of growth) may not occur immedietely. Thirdly the time of the grahas has been used in the reverse! Moon being the fastest planet has become the giver of the longest time. There is a lot of truth to this and comes when we understand the philosophy of conception and pregnancy. The time before the Nisheka (intercourse) is ruled purely by Ketu. This is the time where Ganesa is headless and waiting for the father (Siva) to give him a head. This wait is the time between births and the attainment of the head is symbolized by the Sun + Ketu Yoga, or as Jaimini says; Sun in Ketvamsa. This makes a person a father as the Atma has been given life and a child has come. Now link this to the story of the Matysa Avatara. The Matsya was growing isolated until the right time came, when Vishnu in the form of the Matsya comes to save the Vedas from the time of Pralaya. This is worth thinking about. Now comes the stage between Nisheka and Birth. This time is a state of isolation and severe pain. The body of the child sits in the same posture for an average of 9 months! The state of awareness of the child revolves around the idea that the universe is in the womb. This world view is an eclipse on the mind and shows the strength of Rahu on the native. It is when Rahu reaches a state of exaltation in the from of Varaha Avatara who pulled the world out of the waters, just as birth pulls us out of the womb and into the world. Now notice that these states are ruled exclusively but the nodes, and hence all the Yogas for Nisheka will be in REVERSE! Does this also answer the question as to why the nodes are not included in the Naisargika Dasa? Rahu is said to be a mandooka (frog) and the principle of counting various childbirths is based purely on the Mandooka Ghati of the 5th house of Saptamsa. Again Rahu. Since this time between Nisheka and Janma is ruled exclusively by Rahu, most astrologers will go terribly wrong in their assumptions unless guided properly by a Guru. This Nisheka is furthermore different from the Adhana time, which is a very significant time for seeing the living/jeevatma's past and future. Infact Sarajit and I had a lot of discussions on Adhana after he learnt with Guruji in Delhi, and it seems to give an insight into a person's life which is far more detailed than the natal chart. But this is a very difficult subject. Let alone deciding the Nisheka time, which Dhira Krsna Dasa and I discussed and attempted a lot of work on in the past, is extremely difficult. Infact I feel that Dhira Krsna Dasa alone has done serious work on this on the lists, and I feel proud that he was appointed to be guided by me in this Parampara. Maybe the proper step is to work on the classics and try to differentiate between which slokas talk on Nisheka and which talk on Adhana. Most of Saravali finds its base in Adhana whilst Jaimini's Upadesa has its root in Nisheka AND the time of first period of the woman. Brihat Jataka has a mix of both, and one should pay careful attention to the use of the word; Tatkalika (temporary) and Nisheka, when theres talk of lagna. I hope this mail serves the purpose of spreading more light on this topic, it is indeed a very difficult subject and will require some digging. Notice Dhira's latest mails with reference to the Puranas where unexplainable pregnancies and gestation periods have occurred. I share his understanding. Take the mere example of Kunti who by the mere glance of the Gods became pregnant, without the help of her husband. In those times they had some knowledge which we don't have today. These Puranas are meant for our learning and even Parasara states in the beginning of his Grahagunaadhyaaya that he EXPECTS you to have full knowledge of the Established literature (Vedas, Puranas) and the Naksatras, before one has ventured into his work on Jyotish. Indeed it has been a great blessing for us to learn the essences of each of these slokas from Sanjayji here in Puri. The depth to which we study the slokas is very intense, and we can barely pass through more than 1 sloka a day merely due to the immense amount of knowledge and utility of the sloka. Take an example of Parasara's words on Guna's. We ended up learning how to predict who will be the next president of the US… I hope this mail is of use to the seers of the list, unfortunately I have not been able to post much, and this is a small contribution of mine to satisfy those who have been seeking a sentence or two from me. I hope to get time to contribute more in the future, if time permits. Best wishes to you, Visti. visti
