Thanks for such a wonderful explanation, the following things please clarify:

1. being the lord of 2nd house the venus becomes the Markesh also the major dasa

is of venus. strengthenning the venus will be strenthenning of markesh which

will not good at all. don't u agree?

2. as yogarda is mercury, it should be strengthened. Do u agree? u told the

native to wear an 2 ct. emerald. could u please specify the reason of this

weight. and in which finger it should be weared. and tell me about the Ishta

Dev?

3. Sir, I do not understand the meaning of the Pharse used by u, i.e., "If the

native does not want to propitiate the planets or wear gems, it is possible to

Dear Arun,

 

Venus is the best benefic as the 9th lord. It is also the current

dasa lord. The lordship of the second house is not bad here. The

maraka (killer) planets are the second and seventh lord (and malefic

planets in the second or seventh house or with the second or seventh

lord). The have their killing effect when the predicted length of

life occurs during the dasa or antaradasa of these lords. But Venus

as the lord of 9 and 2 is good even though Venus is a maraka as the

second lord. The 9th lordship is predominant.

 

Mercury may be strengthed as the lord of the lagna. The type and size

of the gems are presented in various writings which do not all agree.

I learned to use a minimum of 2 ct. natural unheated eye-clean gem.

(Some recommend a minimum of 3 ct. for emerald. Sanjay Rath gives 3,

5, 7, or 10 rati -- a rati is .59 ct. Usually the emerald (or

substitute) for Mercury is worn as a ring mounted in gold on the right

hand little finger or the middle finger. You will find different

opinions on this. (Some avoid the first finger for gems.) You may

wear it as a pendant around the neck but the size should be larger (5

ct.), so it makes more sense to wear it as a ring. The planetary

mantra should be recited 108 times over the gem on Wednesday on the

first wearing (when Mercury is in a good position) and the gem bathed.

 

Saturn is the atma karaka. The ista devata shown by the 12th from the

atma karaka in the navamsha. That 12th is Capricorn containing the

Sun, for all times from 23:00 to 24:00 hours (uncertain birth time: It

would be best to rectify the birth time). This indicates the Sun as

the indicator of ista devata. So the ista is Shiva (can also be

Ramachandra).

 

I mentioned alternatives to mantras and gems because some do not

believe in them. The devotion is always good and since the grahas

have specific qualities, remedies for them are related to promoting

those qualities.
